I wouldn't expect a quick signing of anyone. Until Crane and his group officially take over, all of that money would come from Drayton. Why does he want to be aggressive in paying money to players he has no obligation to? Signing players will end up being an operational cost, but I would expect them to pretty inflexible in sticking to slot recommendations, unless the Crane group can get MLB's approval pretty quick.

Nash should play at 1B. He has a .857 fielding percentage in LF.

Austin Wates was taken last year, and was considered a very polished hitter.

And yes, Burke was a great hitter coming out of college. He was an absolute beast his last year of college.

If Carlos Lee can play LF, ANYONE can play left field.

My mistake. I'm pretty sure he played CF some in high school, but I was ignorant to what position they wanted him at in the bigs.

I wasn't trying to imply the Astros giving up on DeShields though. My thinking was that Springer could fill in DeSheilds void should he not pan out, or move Springer over if DeSheilds was able to hit well enough in the bigs. Again, this was with me having DeSheilds in CF.

Andrew Friedman is ridiculous...Tampa gets Taylor Guerrieri. I would have been darn pleased if the Stros got him at 11.

He did play CF in HS, and I think he did during rookie ball last year, but this year he has been moved full-time to 2B, which is what Wade said after they drafted him. He certainly could play CF with his speed, but they want him at 2B. I'm not entirely sure why they wanted to make that move, but it was widely anticipated before the draft that he would be tried at 2B.

Well I can't say I don't like the move. I doubt he will ever he a high average guy, but with his speed playing the middle of the infield, I suppose we could live with a less than stellar average.

I realize he's young, but even for a kid out of highschool hitting .220 in low A is rough. Hopefully, he has a great work ethic.

Jio struggled early at Lexington too, and he has vastly improved offensively from last year (Not that he is exactly tearing it up now). It would be nice if he was hitting great, but we'll have to wait and see if he can turn it around.

Nationals and Tampa have done REALLY well tonight. Tampa was expected considering their scouting and front office along with just the quantity of picks but Washington really hit it big with Rendon and then Meyer. Rendon was a top 2 pick that fell and Meyer was projected to go as high as 10.

Nationals could be REALLY good come 2013/14.

George springer is not a reach. He used to be a top 10-top 5 player in the begingging of the season

Doesn't seem like there will be an issue signing the guy...
