Good quote there Rash. That's how I feel about her. She may not have been entirely wrong, but that's because of luck not wisdom. She's like any other moderately educated person who talks a lot. They put their foot in their mouth a lot with stupid things but can deflect most of the criticism by being partly right.
While you lefties are calling Sarah a stupid idiot, the real genius is sitting in the oval office munching on a chilli dog and making Michelle look really bad on her new food pyramid(plate). These are a few gems from your man/child: "America has 57 states" "Confused a nebulizer with a breathalyzer" "Can not pronounce the word corpsman" I can go on and on but I don't really have the time..... Now that Tallanvor and Basso proved that Sarah was correct about what she had said, an apology is required just like McMark apologized to Basso about the perverted crying Weiner!

I'm with Rocket River, why can't politicians just admit every now and then that hey, they were wrong especially with something as menial as this.
Misspeaking, or mispronouncing something, is not the same as 1) believing something that is incorrect (and then doubling down on such failure) or 2) making s**t up to cover up your complete ignorance about something (and then doubling down on that). But hey, keep trying in vain to make Barack look as stupid as Palin, that's a surefire way to victory in 2012! "Hey you guys, Obama is just as dumb as our candidate! VOTE FOR US!"
I don't think I've ever called her that, but let's regain our focus. What would you call Sarah Palin, in terms of mental acuity? What about her mental abilities leads you to think she would make a great (or serviceable, or possible) POTUS? If she's really quite bright and able to assimilate large amounts of information quickly (which a president would need to do), how do you explain her odd, meandering academic career? Was it Einstein-like, where she was bored by all her unchallenging classes?
Since Palin was right about minor details about what she said, but the point that she has no idea of the historical purpose of significance of the ride reamins, there is no need for an apology. She opened her trap about Revere, and had no clue what she was talking about. That's why the main point of what she said was wrong as wrong can be. It is interesting to see who will either proudly display their own ignorance about Paul Revere's ride, or worse, who will disavow what they know of the ride and the truth and pretend that Palin knew what she was talking about. Palin being wrong, and not knowing something is normal. I don't actually find it that interesting. But it is fascinating how many people will excuse, praise, and support her lack of knowledge. It's very interesting. I'd be interested to know if there is any sociological experiments or theories on why people would do this.

Is it just me, or is she doing the Bachman-like extra-wide eyes thing now? They used to check for that when you entered the army, as a sign of mental illness... I'm not kidding.
