I am embarrassed I am 31 and tried it today for the first time. Good Lord was it good. I can't wait until my next encounter.
whenever I eat that, I'm always pumping myself up, thinking "I'll eat at least 5 wraps", but I never do... fail
Peking duck at Quanjude in Beijing should be on every one's bucket list. I had it 3 years ago. It was amazing.
What restaurant did you eat it at? If someone could recommend a good place to get it in Dallas or Houston, I'd appreciate it...I've had it many years ago, the first was in London, then Manila, the next couple of times in Hong Kong...omfg, I love making those "tacos"/wraps...mmm...with the sliced cucumbers and peanut sauce...
What's a wrap? If this was in Houston, what is the place. I'd love to try it when I am there. Looks delicious!
You guys can try Peking Cuisine Restaurant off 59 and South Gessner in Sharpstown area. You might need to call in advance if you want the peking duck. It takes awhile to prepare. Here are some pics I took last time.. Spoiler Peking duck Spoiler Here it is in a wrap with some asian sauce and shredded green onion
Duck is such an underrated meat. Find a place with good peking duck or soy sauce duck and I'm a happy man.
This is where I last had it, and it was pretty freakin' awesome. That 99.99999% of the customers were Asian told me I was in the right place.
Peking Cuisine Restaurant is where I went of S. Gessner and 59 on the south bound side. 7 of us split a duck (2-3 wraps each) and then we ordered some other things from the lunch menu. Lunch menu is loco cheap but just okay for American Chinese food. We did order salt and pepper shrimp which were huge, a huge portion but were 16.95 but worth it. We called them on Friday to reserve on. Eat it as soon as it comes out. Service there is meh but the duck is what you come for.
Anyone ever try ducks tongue? Had it like 10yrs ago and still remember that delicious taste in my mouth. Must have been some damn great sauce they put in there.
This couldn't be more true for Chinese food or any foreign cuisine for that matter. Also the grimier the better. The last time I had Peking duck was at Peking Duck House in Chinatown, NYC. They had the setup of a fine French restaurant with waiters in freakin' suits. Over 80% of the people eating there were tourists from probably Kansas. Turned out to be over priced under delivered POS. They didn't even slice the duck in front of me. That's supposed to be the best part of the show!
