...after all other options fail at aquiring Dwight Howard or Enes Kanter and whoever else the organization might be pursuing? Let's say the Bucks want to move on and go young, and trade Bogut in a package with Salmons, Gooden or Magette to dump salary (bad contracts) so they can acquire draft picks and young talent. Would you want the Rockets to take on these contracts to get a player like Bogut? Who and what would you give up?
He's not freakishly big so it's not a similar situation to Yao's. Kevin Martin showed that he could remain healthy for a full season. Bogut is a great rebounder and can protect the rim. I'm all for acquiring him at the right cost.
Of course...his injuries have been freakish types. He arm is getting better and hopefully will back to 18/13/2 stat line of 2 years ago.
It's not that he's injury prone. It's that his arm is healing poorly and slowly. It basically hung dead at his side last year. I love the guy and would be happy to have him, but as a gm, I would worry about that arm.
He's up there with Lebron and wade? Really? I really doubt that. For a player to be that he's got to be a superstar or a key piece to a team that's really close to contention. Neither apply here. He's getting older and they've actually taken a step back. Now with Miami in the mix they're even further back in the talent they'd need to contend. They'll be better off trading him at this point.
Agree. Sterling would probably like to remove $12M in payroll and use it to sign DeAndre Jordan. I'd be ok with this if all else fails. We'd get a 1-year look at Kaman who just turned 29 and is a solid player when healthy. Thabeet + Miller + Jordan Hill for Kaman works (salary wise), but I don't think the Clippers want 2 5's and 1 4 for Kaman. Would probably take a 3rd team with an available 3. We also need an upgrade at the 3. Kaman/Yao/Hayes Scola/Patterson/Hayes Buddinger/TWill/Trade for or draft high potential 3 KMart/CLee Lowry/Dragic
