It's not fair to call an oft injured player a bust. If he were not injured, he would be a top rated center, because he can ball. I never really got why people referred to Adam Morrison as a bust after suffering a terrible knee injury. Shelden Williams is a perfect example of a bust. Pat O'Bryant, Saer Sene, Hilton Armstrong...players like these are busts. If Oden were never injured he would be one of the top bigs in the league.

 

If that's your logic, then Portland didn't bust when they drafted Bowie also. Bowie was a very talented player hampered by injuries. If you are dealing with hypothetical situations or fantasy situations where Oden is never injured, Oden would be a top big. In reality, he is injured even more than Bowie.

If Grant Hill had never gotten injured, he would be one of the top 10 greatest ever players.
If Yao Ming had never gotten injured, he would be one of the best Cs in the league.
If Jason Williams had never gotten injured, he would be one of the top PGs in the league.
If Zydrunas Ilgauskas had never gotten injured, he would have been one of the best Cs in the league.
If Baron Davis never got injured, he would still be one of the top PGs in the league.
If Shaun Livingston never got injured, he would be one of the top PGs in the league.

-Would be difficult seeing this kid going in the first round. If he is picked in the late first round, its a huge gamble. Worst case scenario he is Hassan Whiteside... which nobody really labels a bust because everyone forgot about him real quick. Best case scenario, he is a steal in the late first round or early 2nd round.

-I still say that Kyrie Irving could be a dissapointment, but he will not be a true bust. At worst he is a Randy Foye type of PG, however he doesn't really have superstar potential for the 1st pick in the draft. I dont see him being either an elite scorer, defender, passer, etc. He looks good at everything but doesn't have the true elite PG natural abilities of a Steve Nash, CP3, etc.

It's funny, I actually think that Valanciunas - not Kanter or Leonard, like it was reported - is the guy we're hoping to trade up for.

You may think he will be a bust but don't site his shot consistency as a reason...he shot 59.5% from the field and 56.8% from 3.

How is that not a consistent shot?

 

As in he'll be the most disappointing or he'll simply be the tallest of the busts in this draft?

The video tape Jonathan was watching was from years ago. When Kanter was 16 or 17. But yeah, the tape does raise some legitimate red flags on Kanter.
