I have always thought Mr. Weiner was a good man and a strong advocate for progressive causes. And I’m just dumbfounded that he would act in this way. I guess I still am naive to believe there are good public servants out there. This is so disappointing. To tallanvor and basso I apologize for the things I said in defending Mr. Weiner.

this is so silly, one has nothing to do with the other, he's a progressive who likes to chase tail. chasing tail doesn't prevent him from being a progressive. i mean unless you find him to be harrassing the co-ed which maybe he was, he was just living his life.

i'm not "defending" him, but he didn't run on family values.

My advice to progressives, is never put your faith in people. Put your faith in your ideals. People will always let you down.

this stuff is still pretty wild:

“You give good head?” the embattled and married New York congressman asked the woman on March 16, this year.

She responded: “I’ve been told really good...and i love doing it.”

At that point, 46-year-old Weiner declared: “wow a jewish girl who sucks (bleep)! this thing is ready to do damage.”

The fact that he didnt run on progressive values is besides the point. The reality is that when your messaging random girls on facebook or twitter looking for tail, it speaks to a total lack of judgment. Him not stepping down not only hurts him, but his entire party. He's already turning into a caricature of sorts by almost every media outlet out there, and he's just about guaranteed a loss in his re-election bid (if he decides to run again).

If he wasnt so stubborn, he'd have stepped down by now and moved on.

I repped you for this post. Good that you came in here and apologized to those two. I'm sorry Mr. Weiner disappointed you. Seriously I am. I too have been the victim of holding one of these clowns in an idealized view only to find out they are scumbags.

    1. So much for the right wing conspiracy BS.

    2. Can we move on now before we waste another day focusing on the private life of a politician, specifically a politician who never once wrapped himself up in phony religious moralizing in order to get elected.
