With President Bachman in office, we will be able to retroactively interrogate the shifty Paul Revere's of this nation who were warning our enemies. We will be able to question if they are real Americans or whether they are American-hating communists ringing bells for the Communist redcoats (that's why their coats were red; I read it on Yahoo somewhere.) Seriously, little baby Jesus is shedding a tear for our national dialogue.
Actually, no one asked her about Paul Revere. Palin brought up Paul Revere herself. She was asked "what did you do today and did you see anything interesting?" LMAO, that's definitely a "gotcha" question.
This thread reminds me of the fact that William Dawes got completely hosed by the history books just because his route was longer than Paul Revere's. Also unlike that loser Paul Revere, William Dawes didnt get captured by the British and wasnt forced to talk to them.
Makes you think twice about all the hero worship going around these days... The British had already been where, exactly? What the hell does this sentence, if you could call it that, mean? Do people really believe that Palin actually read the letter, that she is speaking from a position of knowledgeable authority? "But remember, kiddos, as Paul Revere warned the British (while they held a pistol to his head), 'The arc of history bends towards my gun locker, don'cha'know!'"
It doesn't even matter about Revere warning the British, because it was not in the context Palin claims, and doesn't make anything Palin said more correct.
Historians agree. Palin was right about Revere http://bostonherald.com/news/us_politics/view.bg?articleid=1343353
Interesting that the hotair article forgets to mention the Palin's claim which is that Revere warned the British not to take the colonists guns which is false, and wrong. Like I've said Palin was wrong. The people who are claiming she was right, are either rewriting history and going against Revere's own letter (which ironically was introduced to support Palin's version) or they are being dishonest. Palin was wrong, and didn't know what the hell she was talking about. Shame on anyone who tries now to change the facts to keep Palin from being wrong.
Not shame on them. They are merely pointing to minute details of what Palin said that were correct. They aren't saying Palin was accurate in her statement. According to Paul Revere, the statements made by the historians, the article, and history as we know it, Palin was wrong. Nobody that's a historian has said anything to counter that. If you find where they have, please show it to me.
http://bostonherald.com/news/us_politics/view.bg?articleid=1343353 I don't think you understand what Palin said FB. Maybe you should go back and watch again.
Palin claimed that Paul Revere warned the British not to take our guns. This is what Palin said herself on Fox http://slatest.slate.com/posts/2011/06/05/sarah_palin_paul_revere_did_warn_the_british_.html His ride was not to warn the British. After Revere encountered the British he warned them, but it wasn't about not taking American guns. This is Palin's originial quote It's been in this thread before. Now if you believe she didn't claim that Revere warned the British not to take our arms, show me where I'm wrong. On Fox Palin even said that was the reason for his ride. We know that isn't the case. Paul Revere's own letter proves that.
People on here know I tend to vote republican and lean right but if Palin knew what she was talking about she sure has a way of making it sound like she doesnt. She needs to attend a public speech or speaking class. In my opinion she sure came off as sounding completely clueless. I don't hate Palin and I don't think she's a idiot either. She's making millions while people on here bicker back and forth. She must be doing something right. But i really dont understand the obsession with her and why she garners so much damn attention from both sides and the media and yes its from both sides. If the news just stops covering her and making such a big damn deal about every single thing she says we wouldnt have this thread. Palin definitely not suitable to run for any high office. As a TV/political commentator sure have fun at it but I could never vote for her. She seems like a nice person and would be fine to have as a neighbor (if only i had all those millions she has )
