The wikipedia entry on Paul Revere has been basically put on lockdown because of all the Palin-ites trying to edit it to match Sarah's rendition of history.

    Embarrassing.

you can 'lol' all you want. Paul Revere said he did, so you are wrong. Unless you think Paul lied.

You're right -- Palin is a genius and deserves to be the republican nominee for 2012.

Absolutely! Palin is far and away the best and brightest of republican party. She should win the nomination.

Someone said that "liberals" were the reason why Sarah Palin has any relevance.

I think we have the real reason why she's remotely relevant. Sarah Palin lemmings will twist and contort anything to make her look like she knows anything.

Thanks for proving my earlier point.

Yeah I don't think he lied but Palin sure did when she backtracked. And I don't think you can classify those comments in the letter as a warning. They stopped him on his horse and questioned him. He answered.

[rquoter]In an undated letter posted by the Massachusetts Historical Society, Revere later wrote of the need to keep his activities secret and his suspicion that a member of his tight circle of planners had become a British informant. According to the letter, believed to have been written around 1798, Revere did provide some details of the plan to the soldiers that night, but after he had notified other colonists and under questioning by the Redcoats.
Intercepted and surrounded by British soldiers on his way from Lexington to Concord, Revere revealed "there would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, for I had alarmed the country all the way up," he wrote.
Revere was probably bluffing the soldiers about the size of any advancing militia, since he had no way of knowing, according to Joel J. Miller, author of "The Revolutionary Paul Revere." And while he made bells, Revere would never have rung any on that famous night because the Redcoats were under orders to round up people just like him.
"He was riding off as quickly and as quietly as possible," Miller said. "Paul Revere did not want the Redcoats to know of his mission at all."

If you read the passage you yourself quoted, the reason why there was such a racket was because Paul Revere warned certain American officials, and they they sprung an alarm system---and not because he was running around and ringing bells.

either way, eh. It's nice to see you debating issues of substance, tallanvor, I guess.

Because voters reward them for not admitting mistakes.

See: Bush, George W. and Clinton, Bill.

To say he warned the British is accurate. To say he warned the British that they couldn't take American Colonists guns, and that was the purpose of his ride is not accurate.

The purpose of the ride was never to warn the British. He never warned them about taking colonists guns.

Palin didn't know what the hell she was talking about. To go back and try and fit what Palin said with what happened is ludicrous.

I am not a supporter of Palin, but any time I see her name, I gotta click. Its more about entertainment. I would compare it to the success of Jersey shore. These guys are not very special or talented, but they are entertaining, odd, and you can't keep your eyes off how ridiculous it all is. its just great for a laugh.

Whats scary is that people actually support her, thats when the joke is over. If she really was just a skit in SNL than that would be perfect and hilarious

She hasn't been governor of Alaska for years; she dropped out of that job.

She gave a nice speech as the Republican nominee for VP at one time and then proved to be unqualified for the job.

Exactly who is putting her in those opinion polls? The media of course!

How many would be able to turn out without the free publicity?

She's more of a "character" than a politician.

Because I just didn't realize that history is different than Paul Revere's own personal letter. Now that Sarah Palin has shown that only she knew the real history I see I was wrong.

I'm still waiting on basso to say if he believes Sarah Palin was correct about Paul Revere in the original interview.

The worst part about this incident is the timing. SNL just had their season finale a week or 2 ago. They could have quoted her word for word again for both the original answer and the interview.

    Lorne Michaels is pouting somewhere.
