hakeem, chuck, and jordan are not a good comparison to bron/wade/bosh because bosh is not a comparable comparison to NONE of those guys.

this team is pretty much 2 top 5 players, a top 20 player, and a bunch of low salary role players

Caron Butler is a good player, but a superstar he is not.

Oh yeah. I'd love to see the refs carry us all 82 games of the regular season, and carry us through the post season to an NBA championship. But I'll be a dead man before I see Cuban ever feel the satisfaction of winning an NBA championship. Screw the Mavericks and Dallas, screw them all to hell.

LMAO @ comparing Bosh to Hakeem. Bosh is more like Horace Grant or Otis Thorpe.

how about we would love it if a lucky #9 pick turned out to be as good as dirk.

It has nothing to do with spending money, and everything to do with a getting a fortunate #9 pick.

What would the mavs be without a lucky #9 in dirk? Nothing.

Cuban is the same guy that was too cheap to sign nash who went on to get not one but 2 MVPs. You can say things because you hear them on tv or it sounds nice but look at the reality.

still mind-boggling. and joel anthony was on the bench on that play, too. after a timeout to set the lineups. still have no idea how spoelstra came up with that lineup and thought it was the best way to stop dirk.

    It's more like a Clyde-Jordan-Otis Thorpe team-up if anything.

So if those Heat guys came to Houston would you be calling it cheap and disgusting?

I don't understand how any Rockets fan can hate the Mavs more than the Jazz. The Jazz beat us back in the 90s and they beats us two years in a row during the Tmac era. A lot of us long time Rockets fans don't have a lot of reason to hate the Mavs besides the proximity and 05 series.

I understand cheering for the Heat against the Mavs but my beef is more with the overall Heat love in this series and past series. One series I get but against the Bulls, Celtics and 76ers I don't get it.

Bull****. Name another instance where 3 top 10 players in the MIDDLE of their primes (2 of the top 3) have done anything tantamount to this?

Yeah, it's legal because it was considered unfeasible. Superstars historically just HAVEN'T done this. Bird was drafted onto a 25 win team and turned them into a 60 win team. Jordan didn't play with Magic or Bird - he played with Pippen/role players. Magic was drafted onto a Lakers team with an old Kareem - he didn't ditch them for the Celtics. They were ALL great teams - and their superstars MADE them great. They discovered how to bring out the best in their teammates - like how Dirk is doing in Dallas. No one expected the Mavs would be coming out of the West.

People can try to justify it, but Miami basically just BOUGHT rings. They get a MLE every year which they can use to buy role players (which will jump on for cheap to get a ring).

The Heat are in the finals with a bunch of scrubs (key role players - Miller/Haslem aren't even healthy) and they are up on the Mavs 2-1. They steamrolled through the East and TBH have looked like a juggernaut in the finals.

All of this in their first year together. They are just going to get better. It's not like they are going to decline soon.

Not unstoppable my ass. We'll see what you'll be saying after they fivepeat.

The worst part is other superstars are considering doing the same. Paul to NY - Howard to OKC. Everyone has heard the rumors. It's all bull****. Thank God the CBA is being revised next season - here's hoping anymore viable superteams get demolished under the new CBA.

How are the Rockets even going to be able to compete? We don't even have a top 20 player on this team.

Bosh is not a top 10 player in this league.

I'm a Wade fan. In the Eastern Conference, I root for them. I'm also a Derrick Rose fan so my heart was split during the Chicago-Heat matchup. :(

So, was Clyde ever considered a top 3 player? His Blazers rose to prominence after the decline of the Celtics/Showtime/the Bad Boys Pistons. He was never in that Lebron/Wade tier and he will go down as an inferior player to both of them. *Not to mention* that Clyde was already declining at the time - he was 32 (for reference McGrady just turned 32 himself) when he was traded to Houston.

If Jordan had been traded to Houston in the early 90s - then maybe you'd have a point. Stop making strawman arguments.

You can make a case that the Heat would be a lot more dangerous if that money they gave to Bosh went towards giving them depth.

Haslem is more than capable of being a good enough starting PF for them to win a title.

I root for the Heat because of Coach Spo. Met him last year here in the Philippines and he was one of the nicest person I've met.
