Everybody who has rings in the NBA are tainted because they didn't play MJ in the finals.

They should just terminate the NBA now since MJ can't play anymore.

They wouldn't be tainted if he'd had won them.

It's quite amusing that so many people forget the fact that Jordan played in 94-95. Now, he didn't play a TON of games but he still looked like the old Jordan when he did. Short-term memories.

it's not short term memories. it's no memories.
it's people who believe in the marketing and the legend of Michael Jordan, not the NBA season of 1994-95.

Anybody who saw that season had a FULL DOSAGE of Michael Jordan every week.

It was the NBA on NBC and EVERYBODY watched it.

Someone needs to send him one of those fan-question videos they air during the Inside the NBA portion and school him with these facts.

If Barkley is going to say stupid stuff like this.

He should mentioned how he came to the Rockets destroyed the team chemistry, feuded with Clyde, became a defensive liability when we played the Jazz and prevented a 3rd championship. See, anyone can do this

I guess no one wants to address the question of why Barkley would have so much animosity towards the Rocket organization. He has always gushed over Hakeem, so I don't really think he would ever try to diminish his accomplishments in particular. Similarly, no one seems to care to ask why someone like Rudy T ("Rocket at Heart") would rather scout for the Lakers than work for the Rockets in any capacity. Or why Hakeem Olajuwon was (seemingly) so eager to leave the Rockets.

Not surprising that Chuck said this but a couple of things, some that have already been pointed out:

    1) Jordan did play the second season that the Rockets won it, maybe not a full season, but he was out there, nonetheless. If you are the greatest of all-time (and for the record, I feel that MJ is) then missing some of the regular season should not be an issue as long as you are in healthy and in shape for the playoffs.

    2) As others have mentioned, Hakeem's Rockets always played Jordan's Bulls tough and had a winning record against them.

    3) Barkley is obviously bitter towards Les Alexander and I guess he will until the day he dies.

    4) But most importantly and IIRC only one person touched on this - I believe Barkley is bitter towards the Rockets due to our Rockets knocking out his Suns 2 years in a row. Both times, the Suns had us down and seemingly out - in '94, they won the first 2 games in Houston to only see us come back and beat them on the road in Games 3 and 4 and win that series in 7. Then the following season, they had us down 3-1 and I remember ****** Barkley even saying that THERE WAS NO WAY THAT THE ROCKETS WOULD BEAT THEM AGAIN!!!! Yet, we beat them in Game 5 in Phoenix with Clyde having the flu and scoring all his points from the free throw line and then beat them in Houston for Game 6 and followed that by beating them in their building with the famous kiss of death shot by Mario Elie.

So, he is bitter due to the fact that not once, but TWICE his team had ours on the ropes and if they could have beaten us, probably would have won the championship. Yet, it didn't happen so WHY U MAD, Barkley?

Oh and I think I remember one Magic Johnson saying after the Rockets eliminated the Lakers in '96 in which he came back and played with that we had the best team in the West and would probably go to the Finals. Of course, he didn't see us getting swept by Seattle :)o) but nonetheless, if you ask him, who Barkley respects and admires, I would venture that he would not say the garbage that Barkley is saying.

My thoughts exactly while I was reading the thread. I would just add if Barkley had hypothetically won one of those titles that Houston actually won, I GUARANTEE he wouldn't be calling them tainted then.

So what's the story on Les then? I hear people think he's an ass, but I rarely hear real stories to back it up.

Sometime during tomorrows game, please someone, tweet either Charles or Kenny( who, btw, should have straightened this mess out already) and take care of this issue once and for all. Too many people are saying this. They get tweets on the show all the time.

    The Obligatory Rant

First off any time barkley talks about championships I turn my ears off because him talking about what it takes to win is equal to a paralegal with a law degree teaching a class on passing the Bar Exam.........

Now Just as the rockets never beat the bulls in the finals, the bulls never beat the rockets in the finals in 96 Hakeem coming off a chip had the same amount of legitimacy as the almighty jordan, furthermore if jordan was so all powerful why wouldnt the round mound request to be traded to the bulls instead of the rockets? Is it because scottie pippen didnt want to play with his "fat butt" lol
Now ive always liked sir charles but trying to devalue hakeem when you know that you thought that teaming up with him was your best shot at being a champion is r****ded.

    Get Your Mind Right!!!!
