Humidity? Now that's just silly. We haven't had more than a week's worth of humidity in the last three months. What we've had in Houston since the beginning of the year is more like West Texas weather - hot and windy. To be honest, it is hot, but it has been a dry heat and it's not that bad. We do need some damn rain and a reversal of the weather pattern though.

No argument about Circle C and keeping Austin weird, although I do what I can, but we do have more than our share of fog, ordinarily. I'm often lost in the fog.
It's 91 right now in Chicago...it was 39 just a week ago, and then jumped to 93 on Memorial Day. The cops actually had to shut down the busiest beach in the city on Memorial Day because people were getting heat exhaustion (although a lot of people are saying the real reason the beach was shut down is because gang members were coming in droves to the beach on the "white" side of town).

This is the largest area of excpetional drought on record! <big>Drought Statistics</big> --281,000+ square miles in drought --An area equal to the 13 Northeast states and Washington D.C. --7.54% of U.S. (including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico) in "exceptional drought" "This is part of a remarkable meteorological 'haves and have-nots' story," says The Weather Channel Expert Stu Ostro. "(You have) record flooding and exceptional drought, and those two opposites occurring in close proximity to each other." For the past few months, Texas and the Southwest was the main drought region. Jon Erdman, senior meteorologist for The Weather Channel and weather.com, says, "An incredible 65% of Texas is covered by this worst drought category. This includes Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Brownsville, Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, and Wichita Falls." However, the drought is now spreading outside of the Southwest and touching on Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana. 86% of Florida is in some sort of drought. Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam calls it the worst drought since Florida was ravaged by wildfires in 1998. Erdman says, "Southern drought outside the Desert Southwest is difficult to quench in summer. The most frequent, concentrated thunderstorms with significant rainfall typically occurs in the northern or central U.S. in the summer months. However, any system arriving from the tropics, especially if it’s a slow-mover, can quickly reverse a significant drought." Ostro says the drought could have been impacted by issues beyond daily weather patterns. "The severity of the drought and the nature of other weather extremes so far this year are probably a result of a combination of several influences: a strong La Nina during the winter, other 'natural variability,' and global warming," says Ostro. Until this week, the record was only 7.58% (continental U.S.) set in 2002.
Yeah well my apartment complex still hasn't fixed my AC unit. Its been a month and we've been running it non-****ing-stop just to keep it under 80 degrees during the afternoon. Got the electric bill today and it was $600. Starting to hate Houston.

That happened to me at a rental house several years ago. The landlord came by and sprayed the ac with a water hose, said he was 'cleaning it'. Next month rolled around, and the bill was the same. I moved out the next day.
The heat and drought is good environment for fat chicks.... When you ready to tap dat booty, make sure to turn that a/c off and have extra bed sheets in handy, your bed/futon is going to be soaked and drenched in sweat... You don't have to go to Schliterbaun (sp) for water works, lolololol.....
Even though the official high for Houston today was only 97, it felt like the hottest day of the year so far.
