Those are the types of players I would think of. They do EVERYTHING you could possibly want them to do. They play defense, they pass, they rebound, they post up, and have even learned to shoot despite not being naturals in that regard. They'll never have to look back on their careers and think "maybe if I worked a little harder or did things differently things would have worked out better." Grant Hill is probably another guy like that, the injuries really ruined his career. I'm not sure I really believe anyone deserves success, though. That's earned and I think saying someone deserves it is in some ways diminishing what those who have it did to get it.
Redd Kidd, Dirk, Marion,Butler(say what you want about the Mavs and Cuban, these guys I just mentioned are humble, older guys who have played hard all their career) Nash Reggie Miller (honestly, I think if the malice at the palace happens, Miller finally gets his ring and retires on that note)
