Yeah, I was wrong. Assuming it was real, I guess it is a good thing Sony didn't give out the same information to consumers.
I think the Store is up finally, although seems to be getting hammered. Some issues here and there. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/06/01/playstation-store-is-available-and-updated-now/
The Sony blog says it should be up and the welcome back package is available. It will be available until July 3rd go to the store and the welcome back section to claim your free games.
There are a lot of error codes popping up, but if you can get into the store you can claim your 2 games. I got LBP and SSHD earlier.
I keep getting error (80710D36) and "content cannot be selected at this time" when trying to download the first "Welcome Back: Free PS3 Game 1" package.
WTF!!! Now the "Free PS3 Game 1" Icon is gone! I only see the "Free PS3 Game 2" Icon on the welcome back screen and I never downloaded the first game! This better get sorted out or I'm gonna be really ****ed off at Sony!
I had trouble downloanding game 1 but was able to get game 2. still not fully downloaded thought it was taken forever. Then I went back to get the first and all that was left were psp games. I finally gave up so hopefully they'll have it back up in no time.
That was a different division. Sony Pictures IIRC. Not really related to the PSN stuff, other than it's within the same company. Sony's so horribly organized and run, they don't even really talk/coordinate their actions between divisions I'm guessing. Sony Music (or whatever) could be hacked 3 weeks from now, as if the division had no idea that the company was being targeted by hackers and maybe they should improve their security. You'd think they'd learn from these mistakes (not just planning for attacks, but just better coordination within the company), but obviously not. On a side-note...what's with all the hacks in general? Maybe I'm just more sensitive to it. PBS, Gmail/Google, Lockheed Martin, etc. Maybe people realized how poor security is at a lot of companies.
I hadnt been on PSN in a couple months anyway, but when my friend told me about the welcome back package I was thrilled until I looked at the options. I already have Infamous so it seems like the other options are cheap arcade titles. LBP looks like something for the Wii. Anyone wanna vouch for it?
Never played it myself, but I've never heard a bad thing said about LBP. I'll be downloading LBP and Infamous when I get around to getting on PSN.
Go into account management>transaction management>services list>SCEA Promotions to download the games. Hope that helps. Your Welcome
