It tells you how dominant Shaq was when the other team's best strategy was to foul him intentionally and exploit the only weakness of his game.
Agree on the about time part. Should have done it 5 years ago lol. As far as staying out of TV studios, the guy is entertaining and hilarious. I'd love to see him on ESPN. Their studio is boring.
I'll giv you that one, but not the zone. And I'm not sure Shaq should be proud that they had to implement a rule so teams couldn't exploit his weakness. And even then, that rule was made to stop the game from slowing down, and not to stop Shaq from dominating. The rule made it easier for him to dominate by not allowing you to exploit that weakness.
Wouldn't you almost be shocked if he doesn't wind up in a booth next season? As a Celtics fan, this season left a bad taste in my mouth. Even last season's Shaq would have helped this team down low tremendously. Rasheed would have been a positive post presence. Jermaine O'Neal and Kristic aint gettin it done for the boom unit. Jermaine's blocks and Kristic's range are nice, but they don't bring other things to the game. I expect they'll reload with whatever past their prime big men become available. Also... Jeff Green was awful for them. That guy literally made me pull my hair out. I should look like Professor X for all his missed rotations and turnovers. He looks clueless out there.
I hope he becomes an analyst, the guy was always entertaining. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/CWqPnEGzfK8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/P9LmHXXWiJs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Perhaps mentioned, I know Shaq kinda jokes about it sometimes, but any serious talk that he might work for ESPN or TNT???
there are 4 Centers that i would start a team with, rather than Shaq; Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Hakeem. there is one non-Center, MJ, that i would start a team with rather than Shaq. revisonist history on your part. Shaq teamed with all-NBA PEnny Hardaway for 4-5 years, they never won the ring. Shaq team with Kobe for 3 years, pre-PJ, they could never win the Western Conference title. Shaq has proven that he can't win a ring unless he has both a HoF-caliber teammate and a HoF-caliber coach on his side.
I said contender. Shaq was one of the few guys in the NBA you could truly build around because just by himself he'll get you to the playoffs. Just like anyone else, of course he needs some help to win. I don't think it's necessarily an HoF teammate though-- put him on a team with depth (something he never had) and that too could win.
