Yesterday was the earliest recorded 100 degree of the year in the history of Houston. The previous was like June 10, 1902
It has been really gross. We've had a high pressure sitting on us most of the Spring. While the rest of the country is getting plenty of rain (some of it in the form of violent storms), we've been in this protective bubble of a high. It is supposed to weaken over the weekend, hopefully it'll draw a little moisture up from the Gulf. A really good tropical depression sitting over us for a couple of days would be good as well. Too bad the high didn't weaken fast enough to pull that one that hit Florida up to us.
Yeah, I've heard that the high is weakening too...read Berger's column the other day saying we're supposed to get at least our average measure of rain in June, still, if not more. That sounds good to me.
I see a hot summer and no change...it's rained a bit in Dallas, but overall, you can see how dry the rest of the state is... Doomed!!!!
