I would LOVE to see what mock drafts you were browsing at that time. So you're saying Vesely was in the mix of John Wall, Wesley Johnson, Evan Turner, Derrick Favors, and DeMarcus Cousins? That's ridiculous. He wouldn't have even been drafted before Epke Udoh and Greg Monroe. More than likely if anyone would hve reached it would have been Utah drafting him instead of Gordon Hayward. I really wanna see these mocks you speak of that had Jan as a top 3 pick.
The new Concensus Mock Draft is up. There are some interesting changes. http://www.nba.com/2011/news/features/05/18/consensus.mock.draft/index.html
they Have Kanter going 4 overall! Must mean they think houston will trade up cuz the cavs dont need him!
Adam Morrison: Small Forward Good, high volume shooter from mid-range Not a great athlete Crafty On a loaded Gonzaga team Poor defender Jimmer Fridette: Point Guard Great, high volume shooter from long range Great penetrator Great finisher Elite athlete On a mediocre BYU team Poor defender I guess there's sort of some similarities if you do some mental gymnastics. Not really, though.
Adam Morrison is an unfair comparison because Morrison's problem isn't that he was unathletic, it was that he couldn't shoot straight. Even in college he wasn't that good a shooter, he got those points mostly on volume shooting nights, and it showed in the NBA and worsened even more when he started getting flak. With Jimmer, he's clearly a lights out shooter. As we have seen with guys like Steve Novak and that dude on the magic (white boy, top 10 pick forgot his name lol) it doesn't matter how unathletic you are your shooting will translate in the NBA. The only difference is do you have enough bball IQ to understand how to run set plays on offense and defense? If you do then you've got a place in the league. If you don't...then you're steve novak lol. Jimmer seems to have requisite IQ to play pg in this league, he knows how to balance being an offensive threat and hitting the open man, something that's even more impressive since his school gave him an all-you-can-shoot license. His combine results were good but I don't think he's gonna be athletic at all, best case scenario is you have a Nash/Kidd-like player who is more smooth than explosive on the court. I also like how he's always double-triple teamed and still manages to score efficiently. That shows he's fast on his feet and generally makes the right decisions on the fly, another plus. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say if he's drafted he'll have a better rookie year than Ricky Rubio, adjusted for minutes.
That's racist? LOL I'm hoping for a trade up to get Kanter And drafting Tyler @ 23. Surely one of those guys will become a great big man. Odds are in Moreys favor if he chooses to go this route.
