Think so huh? Had to be a two year deal? Really? Then don't you find it strange that McHale is getting a 3 year deal with an option for a 4th year?

Sounds like a pretty normal contract to me. Do you want to quote any other unsubstantiated rumors as facts while we are here?

The Rockets and McHale, 53, quickly agreed Friday to a four-year contract, the final season at the team’s option

I question your Rocket fanhood when you throw a player like Steve under the bus like that.

No we have not been rebuilding for a decade. We built a very good team. We had two all stars in McGrady and Yao. The Van Gundy teams and the team during Rick's first year were legit contenders had they stayed healthy. We just had too many injuries.

We haven't really started rebuilding yet. This team, as it stands now, is not a contender. By hiring McHale, we are signaling the official start of the rebuilding phase. McHale is a better coach for a rebuilding project than Adelman even if he's not a better coach.

How dare you disrespect a rookie of the year like that, Stevie Franchise is easily the 5th best player in Rockets history.

    1. Hakeem
    2. Moses Malone
    3. Clyde the Glide
    4. Calvin Murphy (also #1 announcer)
    5. Steve Francis

So you take everything that Barry Warner says as fact? That explains a lot.

    .......................................lolwut.
Ralph Sampson, Tracy McGrady ( say whatever you want about him never getting out of the first round, he at least made the Rockets a 50 win team unlike Franchise), Yao, and Elvin Hayes are at all heads and toes above him.

Why don't you just calm down a bit and wait until the season actually starts, mkay? I for one actually have faith in this organization.

Lol you have to be kidding.

Do you seriously not remember the over dribbling, shot clock violations, the many turnovers, the boneheaded shot selection, the inability to get teammates involved? The guys basketball IQ had to have been in the negatives. And we never won ****.

Francis is one of the biggest waste of talents in league history. There is a reason as to why he did not last 10 years in the league. The Francis era is what I refer to as the dark ages in recent Rocket history.

I can name you 20 Rockets I would take over Steve Francis (in no order). Note this is not a top 20 Rockets list, just 20 guys I'd take over Francis. I am sure there has to be guys which I am forgetting:
    Hakeem Olajuwon
    Calvin Murphy
    Moses Malone
Rudy Tomjonavinch (yes you forgot that one)
    Clyde Drexler
    Elvin Hayes
    Tracy McGrady
    Ralph Sampson
    Yao Ming
    Otis Thorpe
    John Lucas
    Vernon Maxwell
    Kenny Smith
    Kevin Martin
    Luis Scola
    Kyle Lowry
    Chuck Hayes
    Shane Battier
    Carl Landry
    Rafer Alston lol

Francis was a tremendous talent, horrible basketball player. Good riddance.

I stand by my statement. It was a dark era of Rockets basketball. In terms of talent, he had everything required for a great PG. In terms of intelligence, he had none.

I agree that we're rebuilding. actually, I think we've been rebuilding for a couple years now.

I disagree that it doesn't matter who our coach is. That's just silly.

If I can sustain the Rockets when they have put Keith Bogans, Moochie Norris, Pig Miller, Thomas Hamilton, Carlos Rogers, Clarence Weatherspoon, Mark Jackson, and the like out on the floor I think I can stomach Kevin McHale as head coach.

I disagree with you. You call the t-mac / yao era rebuilding? We were a championship contender when healthy (rare but if they stayed healthy we had a good shot at the trophy). You are underestimating the how awful it is to be a clippers fan as well. The clippers havnt done squat the last three decades, and how can you call a McHale the worst rockets coach in franchise history if he hasnt even coached a game yet much less a season. I do agree that new uniforms would be cool.
