wow just wow, is it too early after one listen to say album of the year no sophmore slump for vernon....... this is just a flat out beautiful album and he has some improved the depth, layering of his music and the voice of course is spectacular .... my ears are in love! ps any chance vernon could give sam beam a lesson about how to make layered and complex music
Big fan of every one of these, especially Night at the Opera and it's awesome opening: "But now you can kiss......my a** goodbye!" "Death on two legs...."
I agree. I have listened to this album almost 20 times already. My album of the year at this point. I thought no way, he would be able to create such a great follow up especially after listening to the Blood Bank EP. Albums like this are what I live for and why I like the genre so much. My favourite tracks are Towers, Minnesota, Michicant and Holocene. EDIT: I love almost every track. So beautiful.
Some really outstanding tracks on Burst Apart. In the top 5 albums of the year for me. No Widows and Putting the Dog to Sleep are my fav. tracks. I caught their set at this year's SXSW where they played at The Parish. Even on the first listen of their tracks live, I felt the material was very strong. Why did you wait so long to listen to this album? Were you not a fan of Hospice?
Pharaoh Sanders - Karma Ornette Coleman - Free Jazz Currently jamming to Freddie Hubbard's "Red Clay" to give myself a break from all the free jazz, lol.
I'm not sure why I need Queen remasters. Don't know what label Aerosmith is on now, but I'm waiting for some Aero remasters similar to the 2003 AC/DC batch from Columbia.
BLACK LIPS - ARABIA MOUNTAIN (haven't listened to bon iver yet..... but it wont be better than ARABIA MOUNTAIN by the BLACK LIPS)
Aerosmith is on the Sony label. They have 1 more album left on their contract. I'm not sure if that will speed the process along or slow it down. But i'm with you, i've been waiting for those remasters for a while.
Stumbled on this last night... <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rF9xO2Tpwzs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
i too love all the tracks, but if you make me pick me favourites they would be towers, perth, calgary and wash. not so sure about that last track, very 80s read some reviews, they mentioned vernon struggle to write with the guitar and hence the new non guitar based sound listened to for emma forever ago again and they work so well together, his voice is gorgeous and the lyrics outstanding
