funny how that talent never got him outta the first round. i say AI was more talented. Tmac was taller.
So in other words, you basically just admitted you don't watch basketball? I guess I should applaud you for your honesty.
AI accomplished more in his career than tmac but i guess that means nothing. kid, get your panties out of a bunch and go youtube Allen Iverson. He was one of the most prolific scorers in the game and did it in a 6' frame. Tmac and AI are similar, I think AI was more talented though.
T-Mac was pretty good in his prime. I'd take T-Mac because of his all around ability to do more than scoring. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/z6GZ3jkQE4Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
At the top of their respective games T-Mac was better but AI had a substitutability longer career as a franchise player (They don't come off the bench ). I am a pretty big T-Mac fan. A top 3 NBA player demanded a trade to Houston. Think about that. Think about how much we moan about no one wanting to come to Houston. T-Mac wanted to, and for that I will always appreciate him. The Mcgrady trade months were just awesome. He just brought excitement to Houston Rockets basketball. With that said, this whole T-Mac prime argument is starting to become a scapegoat. Longevity should be considered when judging a player, not just peaks. You can stack up T-Mac during his prime against virtually anyone and make a sound argument but an argument about careers is a much more representative sample.
pardon me tmacaholics, but Iverson won the MVP and took his team to the NBA Finals.. And they played in the SAME division as Tmac of Orlando. Oh who did the Sixers beat in 2nd round? Oh why it's Toronto with cousin guy Tmac didn't want to play with, Vince Carter! the Magic made the playoffs with a 43 and 39 record.. that's WORSE than the Rockets who didn't make the playoffs at 45 and 37 in the West. <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zqvDuPWa1jY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
He did bring excitement and big expectations. However, the Rocket have had big superstars come to Houston before.
You wouldnt know the first thing about heart so you should stop speaking on it like you actually have a clue http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQAxaGLxsIw#t=31m51s

I understand what you are thinking dude. However, if you look at all these threads recently. Tmac vs Durant Tmac vs Iverson Tmac vs Rose etc I'm sick of the Tmac fans inferiority and insecurity complex. Yes, I do love Vernon and OT. How many times have I done a Vernon vs this player Vernon vs that player Vernon vs Tupac Vernon vs Pacquio etc etc My threads are informative and I try to educate the readers of what really happened. I post articles from the chronicle as well as videos and stats Seriously? Iverson won the MVP in the same conference that Tmac(prime) was in. that's a fact jack
dh, so this thread is iverson vs tmac? do you agree? prime iverson = mvp iverson? do you agree? prime tmac = the holy of holy tmac in orlando? do you agree? basketball-reference = real stats? do you agree? so posting iverson vs tmac stats head to head for an entire career is relevant? do you agree? posting what each player did in 2001 is a good idea since they both were in their primes? do you agree? iverson won the mvp that year, had better stats, and lead his team to the nba finals while tmac lead his magic to a loss in the first round exit 3-1 to the bucks? do you agree? oh dh dh, tell me why the OP created this thread? or why do any of these threads mysteriously pop up, like Durant or Rose vs Tmac?
Actually, one last thing. Isn't this what your obsession ultimately comes down to? That you actually dislike the fact that there are people who still like McGrady?
I agree More or less, but I more or less outlined what I thought to be their respective primes on the first page. Real stats, but need to be qualified with some kind of analysis. I disagree. They didn't guard each other, and their surrounding talent was different. This isn't Robinson vs. Hakeem. You posted how their teams performed, without taking note of the fact that the levels of surrounding talent and coaching weren't the same. Look, the MVP argument is stupid. It's an award voted on by clueless sportswriters who don't know any more than the average fan. This past year's voting results illustrated that fact demonstrably. But regardless, I would agree that Iverson had a better year in 2000-01, and I said I was on the fence about who I would rather have in their primes. I'm sticking with T-Mac, but AI certainly had the better career and is a first ballot hall of famer. The only way T-Mac makes the hall is an a guided tour. I think we can both agree on that Probably because it reminds people of better times. Maybe because the posters are trying to remind people of just how good McGrady was before his ugly breakup with the team (the third of T-Mac's career) that clouds a lot of peoples opinion of him, with you being a prime example. Unlike some fans here though, most Orlando fans for example still hold McGrady's talent in high regard, in the sense that they remember how great he was. Many of them still think T-Mac should have won the MVP in 2002-03. Tell me why YOU'RE so obsessed with McGrady.
I can't change people's minds who their favorite player is. However, whenever these fans start making threads to purposely rip other players to make their hero look good, I'll put my 2cents in. You think real NBA fans when they saw OKC and Chicago lose think about McGrady? no.
