And why isn't Keppinger starting tonight vs the lefty? Regardless, Norris CAN NOT give up an opposite field 3-run jack to the PITCHER!!!
(Zach Levine)Astros have given up 4 home runs to pitchers this year. All other teams combined have given up 4.
I went last night. The team tried hard to ruin our evening, but it was still fun. The upgrades on the ballpark are tremendous.
Interesting game...Happ walks the bases loaded in the 1st but survived and is in control. Problem is...Tomahawk dude is pitching great for the DBacks. By the way...Ryan Roberts sure has A LOT of Tats.
HAHAHA..Dad just took out his kid trying to catch a foul ball. Not that I mind but when this guy gets in trouble, the game SLOOOOWWWSSSSS down.
Nothin' like the aftermath of a mid-market team that neglects it's farm system and tries to be in win-now mode year after year after year... With some good managing (i.e., not Ed Wade) and some luck, the Astros may be relevant again in about half a decade. I don't buy that Wade is particularly good in any area of his job, including drafting and player development. And the problems go much, much deeper than the bullpen even if that is the present focus.
This weekend was a good ole fashion punch to the junk. Happ pitched REALLY well after the 1st and I don't know what he did during the winter but he has become pretty darn good at the plate. Two months is plenty of time to see who are the dead weights and they are clear. Hall does absoutly NOTHING for this team, Lee has turned into a slow slap hitter and Towles is just a real bad offensive player and medicore defensive player. Barmus will get a pass from me simply because he can actually play above average defense but with the club struggling to do anything on offense, Sanchez may have to get more playing time. Saying all that, nothing will help this team besides developing what is already here and moving up some minor leaguers for the future.
Ok, let me get this straight, Barmus gets moved up to two while Kepp is moved down to 5 and Wallace 6 against a righthanded journeyman pitcher making his first start of the season today??? Why the hell not...
The good news: Keppinger is back, so less Hall Lee hit over .300 this month Towles is supposed to be our 3rd string catcher.
