I actually don't agree that the Rockets hired KM to tank. I think Less was pissed at Rick b/c he thought Rick was preventing the Rockets from winning. This is why he wanted him fired early in the year. He has unreasonable expectations for his coaches and likes to use them as scapegoats. This is all fact - it actually happened, three times in a row now. The number of games they win next year most likely wouldn't validate or invalidate their decision. KM most likely will not work under the same conditions that Rick had to work under.

what if he wins 50 games ?? does that make him a good coach ??

if 50 wins cannot make him a good coach, then 30 wins cannot make him a bad coach.

its understandable if people have doubts about mchale. however people should put their money where there mouth is and set some fair standards that he can be judged by. too many people simply want to badmouth morey/les/mchale without any hint of objectivity whatsoever.

Yes, we should make proclamations about the record next year without regard for what the roster will look like. That's the kind of irrational thinking people should engage in. Or at least what the Rocket FO is asking their fans to engage in. Of course what they say now will be forgotten a year from now. But what does that matter? As long as people get on board, they may sell a few more tickets in '11-12. At least that's what Rocket employee/ClutchFan trolls like CJMVP want to happen.

it goes both ways though - if you can't make a prediction about next season then you can't criticize the coaching change. conversely, if you can criticize the coaching change, then you can make a prediction about next season. otherwise how does the criticism have any merit. if you believe the rockets have taken a step backward, then it should be reflected in the teams success. if the team is more successful, then it stands to reason that they made good decisions. if the team is less successful, then criticism is warranted.

some people only want to criticize without setting any fair objective standards by which to judge. those people are called trolls.

The point of this thread isn't about how good of a coach KMac is, it's that we aren't tanking. As long as the coach isn't godawful, this young team (5th youngest in age/MP) should continue to progress and win lots more games.

Its all les and moreys fault if it rains, and we are all just a bunch of sheep.. and oh yeah mchale is a tomato can even though his centerpiece was al jefferson, he won titles as a great inside post man at boston, and picked garnett and love. Pure 100% tomato can.

By this measure, anyone who reserved judgment after the Cavs hired Byron Scott would be labelled as a "troll". I guess since the Cavs were less successful this season, then any criticism about the hiring of Scott was warranted. How can anyone be confident in the direction of this Rocket team when this is the kind of rationale we're supposed to support?
