    Morey has his eyes set on a defensive specialist to be our lead assistant. Michael Malone, Kelvin Sampson and Dave Joerger are the choices.

    If you had to choose one of them right now, who would it be?

    I heard Joerger is a legend from the NBA D-League. It would be great to pair up Finch with Joerger to have an NBA D-League legend duo.

    My vote's for Joerger.

    Why would Joerger want to switch teams at this point though, since he will continue to be an assistant?

    I hope DM succeeds though in luring someone to be our defensive coach.

    Johnny Davis is the lead assistant coach for the Grizzlies and is not going anywhere.

    I am assuming a lead assistant coach position would be a step up from an assistant coach much like a senior vice president is a step up from assistant vice president, but neither position is president or CEO. Eventually, they can go gunning for the head coach position. Thibs went from assistant to lead assistant to head. Everybody wants to progress in their career and make more money also.

    To be perfectly honest, I don't know a damn thing about any of them. But by all accounts, they're three pretty capable guys. Whoever it is, I hope he's getting a center to work with (y'know, besides Thabeet, who totally doesn't count).

    I'm more interested in who the rockets add on to the roster that can actually make a difference defensively. A "defensive coordinator" really won't solve anything

    It is very hard for me to see JVG coming back to the Rockets in a lesser role.

    Supposedly JVG has said that he would consider an assistant position and has not publicly burned a bridge with the Rox FO. I guess that JVG being KMac's top assistant in charge of defense would then be a possibility.

    If DM did hire back JVG, the Rockets players, KMac, and CFin would all be better for it.
