You won't get much of a truck for the price of a Hyundai. I was making a similar price comparison. i think I will skip your road test and subjective stuff and just comment on this awesome. But for a basis of comparison, I was comparing the EPA rating, on the sticker. Just wanted to point out that no matter how nice a TL interior is (the backseat impressed me. those things are ROOMY) they cannot match the physical size and sitting position of a truck or suv interior. The difference in mileage is not as significant as it once was. and just to confuse everyone, I drive a coupe.
You're basically stating what I'm saying. If you want A, B, C, and D, then pay $35k for the truck. If you want E, F, G, and H, pay $35k for the car. Pay for what you need. For example, the SH-AWD TL sacrifices trunk space for that awesome AWD system. Some with families don't want to sacrifice this. Me, being single, I couldn't care less. There are things each does the other does not for the same price. It goes beyond just mileage and room. Things like acceleration, handling, comfort, etc. can't just be dismissed... it's why you pay more for some vehicles even though their mileage and other things may be the same or worse. As for the mileage of the trucks catching up, I agree. Ford's stepped up their game quite a bit. I guess what I'm saying to the OP is that you get what you pay for one way or another, just figure out what you need/want and pay for it instead of doing what everybody else is doing.
If you're not straight-up white, don't listen to Casey H, he will shoot you in the face and wave the Constitution about his head as he continues to fill you with bullet holes.
if it were me, I'd go with the Nissan Titan... I love the look and Nissan has always made good, reliable cars...
