they are certaily not going to come out and say he did a BAD job. media comments and opinions mean very little in comparison to what was plainly visible and yes i watched most of the games this year as i do every year. anyway for the record i don't believe i ever said he did a BAD job either, just that he didn't do as good as he could/should, and he has done better in previous years. the 15-5 start and the record after the all star break proved it. this team was capable of more but adelman held the rockets back with his roster management. he's not a terrible coach, i love adelman, but he is better suited coaching the team he was supposed to have when he was hired. todays team needs a different coach. i dont see all this drama that other people are seeing. yes adelman was good and yes his players played hard for him. thats awesome. the players will still play hard for mchale and there is no resturing of the offense needed. they will be able to hit the ground running and i expect next season to be better than this last one. how much better i do not know, but i will have fun watching and i expect a good fun team to watch. i'm cool with that. we will see what happens after the cba, draft, free agency, training camp, trade deadline, etc... i think the rockets will be fine and i am optimistic about the future. worrywarts need to calm down.
I'm happy cause the other two coaches maybe could make the Rockets better then Mchale can, and that would be a mistake with next years draft could have 5 guys that could be franchise players.
After leading the Celtics to NBA Championships as both a Celtics player and a Timberwolves GM, He will now attempt to bring another championship to the Boston Celtics as a Rockets Coach!! Smile
Lets begin the talk of a Luis Scola and Kevin Martin for Troy Murphy and Carlos Arroyo talk begin. Other than Scola (move him to center) or possibly Yao Ming no current Rocket player would start on the Celtics. That is an ammusing thought. Hiring McHale as coach was a better move than trading Aaron Brooks for Gordon Dragic. They also have Hasheem Thabeet...
I think star players rarely make good coaches because they overestimate what their players are capable of. Guys who were 2nd/3rd team spent more time observing what their coaches did/ handledd themselves from the bench during games. I know that sounds simplistic but sometimes it is what it is.
I feel bad for Houston fans. McHale actually got pretty decent results during his two stints coaching the Wolves, but they were both short stints, and I seriously question whether he has the gumption to do it for the long haul. The feeling around here is that a big reason why his way overlong tenure as GM was such a huge disaster is because he was just plain lazy and not interested in doing a lot of the due diligence required for the job. If you were an NFL team, would you hire Matt Millen to be your coach?
You sound like a gay telling bisexuals to "make a decision!" when they have already!' if all these Clutchfans wanna switch-hit, more power to em! I say 'meh' as well.
Even if they ARE tanking the season, at least that's a plan! Sitting in a purgatory of mediocrity (a la the Clippers) is never a goI'd thing!
It doesn't matter what we think. Welcome to Houston Mchale. Now bring us Kevin Love and the no. 2 pick.
The Packers signed Capers and it worked out well. It's not crazy to think that Mchale can suck hardcore as a GM but excel as a HC.
Just happy we have a coach..Fitch is our true coach because the rockets just trying to give him a background other then RGV
I'm just glad that this head coaching search is over so that we can get on to more pressing matters. Like how to keep as much as this team that we have together and what players to add from the draft.
I don't think it is official. We still have to see what will happen as far as who will still be on the team.
Jesus H. Christ. This post is so full of crap that Paul Bunyan's toilet couldn't hold it all. The one saving grace is that you haven't been polluting this forum with your opinions for very long. The other side of that is you are still here. Anyone have any Tums?
well that sure was a well reasoned rebuttal anyway, it looks like i was right. adelman is sick of coaching and wants a gm job. surprise surprise: now he can be a gm and manage the roster how he likes. and he won't have to mail in any more half-hearted coaching efforts. his coaching days are done. they were done quite some time ago but now its official.
