We've been hearing about the sequel to "The Strangers" ever since the first film became a hit by grossing over $80 million on a $9 million budget. NY Post has now learned that the second installment is moving forward and NY Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire is in discussions with Relativity Media to executive produce the thriller.

Stoudemire talks about "The Stranger" at Tuesday night's Whitney Art Party in Chelsea, which he co-hosted. "Ever see 'The Strangers?' It's a scary movie. It's crazy," he said.

It's not clear why the NBA star reached out to the studio to take part in "The Stranger 2." Is he co-financing the film or is this his way to get a bigger acting role in a major movie after having cameos in "Entourage" and "New Year's Eve"? Stay tuned.

Looks like he's still getting in touch with those Jewish roots.

Wow, perhaps Amare has some deeper interest for film and acting? Would be cool if he would direct his own film someday.

if he thinks the strangers deserves a sequel then his interest can't be that "deep"

It was a pretty decent flick and it deserves a sequel way more than 75% of the **** out there that are getting sequels and threequels.

I actually liked it too, but the overall feeling is that most horror movies that are forced into sequels usually arent made because the producers thinks its genuinely scarey, but because they kno itd make money, but this movie did even hint at a sequel.... hmmm.....

It's a movie that could easily have a sequel. As a horror film, it was very well done, I thought. The only problem I had with it was the ending. I don't necessarily mind an open-ended movie, but the lack of resolution was kind of off-putting for me on this particular film. If anything, it makes me want to see a sequel in order to see The Strangers get their just deserts.

Either way, The Strangers 2 seems like a much more sound investment than, say, Rescue Dawn, which Elton Brand served as a producer for.

People thought it was good? I thought it was the dumbest movie ever. The main characters are idiots. Everything about the plot lacked common sense. I stopped watching halfway through because I couldn't get past how dumb it was.

"The Strangers" really creeped me out, in a sense because I can see that stuff actually happening in real life. Would love to see Liv Tyler in the sequel. I'm very curious as to how they'll write a sequel to it, seeing as it was a random attack from the first movie.
