Kawhi Leonard I am convinced he can't really play, that he will be thrust into a major role on some lotto team, that he will flop out 10x worse than Evan Turner did, it will destroy his confidence and he'll be gone after his rookie contract. I just don't think he can play. Who is your biggest bust prediction of 2011?
Well, if he's only the 4th best player in his draft class, do you consider that a bust? When I say bust, I'm talking about guys that get drafted and don't stay in the league very long, with the biggest bust being the guy that is drafted the highest that winds up on the bench and out of the league in a short period of time.
Considering that most teams would be drafting Leonard to be a complementary piece and defensive stopper, I doubt he will end up being a major bust. Evan Turner was drafted to be a star. Big difference. I imagine that one of the Euros will end up being a bust, since there is less solid information about them than most others.
I think there are going to be a lot of busts in this draft and a lot of diamonds in the rough. Biggest possible busts (players taken in the lottery who have disappointing careers): Derrick Williams: I don't think he will ever find a position on defense or ever be able to have a team's offense flow through him. He will be an athletic contributor but never an all star or franchise player Tristan Thomas: He reminds me of a shorter, less talented, much more sane Eddie Griffin. He'll never be strong or big enough to be a 4 and never will be fast enough to be a 3. Jordan Hamilton: I'm a Texas alum, an Austinite and a Longhorn sports fan...and, as a Rockets fan, I don't want anything to do with Hamilton. The guy is mentally unstable and reminds me of Ricky Davis. Also, Motiejunas is going to straight up suck worse than almost anyone else in the first round, and I think Alec Burks will never be a solid starter in the league.Oh, and the Morris twins will have careers somewhere between that of the O'Bannon brothers and the Collins twins.
Which one, Bima? BTW, if Leonard is drafted at 5 or 5-7 and he bombs out, does it really matter if he was drafted to be a complementary player? He's getting paid more than all but a handful of guys from this draft if he goes that high. If he bombs out, big role or small role, he's a bust. And if he's being drafted as a complementary player, then why would you take him at 5?
Dude, you cant even say turner is a bust yet! After just one year you cant say anybody is a "bust". Turner actually played well at the end of the year. Id say Tristan Thompson, simply because he is NOT ready to play in the NBA!
The "euros", I think Jan, Jonas and Bismack will be at the least good NBA players. Kanter and Motiejunas have chances to dissapoint. Also of being very succesful players, but there's more uncertainity with them.
No, not yet. He did flop coming out of the gate. What I said was Kawhi will flop 10x worse coming out of the gate than Turner did and will never recover. Turner may very well recover. I think he can ball.
Dude....please. He's a bust. He's played 1 season out of 4. And he's not likely to play much more the rest of his career. He's got one leg significantly shorter than the other and he's had multiple leg injuries, serious, significant knee injuries. If he was coming out of college today, he would only get drafted in the second round on a whim. He's a bust.
You can only call people bust when the majority of their career is over. We know Darko or Dunleavy will never be an all-star now, but can't say that about Oden. Too early to judge.
