This gives you a look at 12 different mock draft sites and a consensus draft for all of them. http://www.nba.com/2011/news/features/05/18/consensus.mock.draft/index.html
I like Tobias Harris, but after watching him play, you can see that he is caught in that tweener situation. You know where hes too slow to guard NBA threes and not strong enough to guard fours, yet.
lol, we are interested in a lot of players, I guess this draft is weak. On a serious note, I like Jan Vesely, he is the "hight risk hight reward" player in this draft. And what is intriguing about him, is the fact that trading for the 7th pick might be enough to draft him, and considering the price it would take to go above that pick and respective prize, I would not go any higher then that (just from a get better perspective, ignoring future trade scenarios). If our target is Kemba, what player the Raptors pick is crucial, if we are after Vesely or Kawhi Leonard the Wizards pick is fundamental. I never seen a full game of Vesely, how he performs on different types of situations, and how does a 6`11 SF performs playing on the perimeter for heavy minutes, but from what I have seen, his big potential is on on the offensive side of the ball (even tho is is very very raw right now), am I wrong??? Do you see this guy creating problems on Durant??? Will he be able to stay with slashing guys like Rudy Gay for 30 plus mins??? That is my problem with him, I see huge upside offensively, I just don´t know how will he be able to stay with 3s in the NBA on a consistent basis. Morey´s job is not easy, would you take a gamble on Vesely (possible star), or do you take Kawhi, that will never be a star (maybe I am wrong), but there is no doubt he will be a very very solid on both ends of the floor. Solid, can´t go wrong VS upside, DM did a great job choosing solid last year in Pat, let´s see what he does this year. PeAcE
As things have panned out so far, it looks like whoever Utah drafts at #3 will determine how the draft goes, as far as the lottery is concerned.
Man that's a tough question, I would pick williams just because of his exciting highlights it would be fun to watch him play but if morey thinks kanter would be better for us then id still be happy im sure morey is doing his homework.
I hear the Jazz REALLY want Williams. If the Rockets trade up to #2, and if they would prefer Kanter to Williams, they should offer the pick to the Jazz in exchange for #3 and a future pick (maybe even GSW's top-8 protected pick in 2012).
That may be interesting, especially if it would entice them enough to also S&T Kirilenko to us for Battier's TPE.
I would do that. Golden State is starting to do better, but who knows what will happen with Jerry West and a new coach on board. If they stay the same as this season, that pick would be in the 9-12 range. Would you take a possible 9-12 range pick in a loaded draft next year, or maybe try to get Utah's #12 this year and get someone like Alec Burks to replace Kevin Martin?
I'd take the 2012 pick, easy. The Rockets will have enough rookies/young players next season, and the quality of player available at #12 will also be there at #14. Plus, having the "future pick" enables the Rockets to put together more attractive trade packages in their pursuit of a star player.
Surprisingly he has fast feet to defend SFs, in fact he has more defensive upside than offensive upside. Offensively, I don't see him being a star because he's not that talented. But defensively he could become an authentic nightmare.
Exactly. If people here actually followed European basketball they would all be wanting him to be the selection.
This one isn't half bad and includes a lot of lesser known sites > http://dcprosportsreport.com/NBAMocks.htm
IDK, IMO I think Marcus Morris can make the transition to Small Forward. Defensively; just from re-watching his games and the 3-on-3 workout at the combine. He shows good fluidity and movement, not to mention he posses good strength and size for a SF. His not a great run and jump athlete, but I think his good enough and fast enough to defend the 3 at the NBA level. Offensively his ability to face up handle the ball and have the ability to shoot of the dribble are all better suited for a SF in the nba. Tobias Harris is another one, who I think can make the transition to SF in the NBA. Just from comparing him athletically and physically to Shane Battier(one of the former most elite wing defenders) you can see that he has the 'tools' to make the transition. Shane Battier (age = 22 yrs old) Height 6'9 / Wingspan 6'10/ Max Vert 33.0 / Bench Press(185lb) 12/ Lane agility 10.95(lateral quickness)/ 3/4 Court Sprint 3.30 Tobias Harris (age = 18yrs old) Height 6'8" / Wingspan 6'11"/ Max Vert 37.5/ Bench Press(185lb) 12/ Lane agility 10.96 (lateral quickness)/ 3/4 court sprint 3.17 From DraftExpress.com http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Tobias-Harris-5740/#ixzz1NTzMQNZ4 http://www.draftexpress.com
I stick by my guns that we should consider Keith Benson. He had a great showing at the shooting drills combine, for a big playing either C or PF (though he's a little on the light side for weight). Player profile:: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Keith-Benson-5712/ I like that he's reasonably intelligent, can block shots and wants to pattern his game after KG. His catch and shoot numbers at the combine from 15-18 ft are KG-like. I'd like to know what you think about this prospect.
Definitely wouldn't mind him at #38. I like his shooting touch, and his overall size (6'11'' 7'4'' wingspan). He also averages 3.5 blocks per game. Can anyone vouch for his all around defense? Post, facing up, fastbreak, etc. EDIT- I have heard that Moreyball favors upperclassmen, and this guy is a senior. I have never been able to predict a Morey pick, but this looks like a possibility.
I think he's a great value in the second round and I don't understand why he's not in the bottom of the first round.
LOL! That's the dude that's suppose to be way more athletic than Blake Griffin? That dude is athletic but he is NOT as athletic as Blake Griffin like OHMSS claims.
