I remember people being surprised when he joined the cast of SNL because of his lack of experience. As far as I know, it was all in kids shows. But I think he's blossomed into one of the funnier cast members on the show. He certainly doesn't lack for camera time and he already has several great recurring characters, which is pretty much the ultimate goal for every cast member. But he doesn't seem to get a lot of pub outside of the show (that I know of). Just wondering what you guys think.
I would say he, along with Abby Elliot, are the least funny on the show, unless Seth Myers still counts, he is the worst Nowhere close to being on par with Fred Armisen and Kristen Wiig who are by far the most talented on the show I also would not consider him anywhere close to Bill Hader, Bobby Moynihan, Jason Sedakis, or Andy Samberg
He bats about 30% for me. He's funny occasionally, overall not really. To be fair, that's not too far under SNL in general for me these days.
the "what's up with that" anthem can be heard every day at my house. whether it's me or either of my sons, it echoes down the hall daily.
yeah, the 'what's up with that' skits are outstanding as are those ones with the old man dance videos. i think he's overall pretty hilarious and has grown into a solid role on the show. but i love that this gives the opportunity for haters who have nothing better to do than spend their saturday nights watching a show they think is complete crap spew their opinion. bill hader is my favorite right now. stefon is the best character on the show and his old man reporter is pretty funny too. and whoever thinks seth myers isn't funny should probably stop posting.
This pretty much sums up my thoughts as well. Used to watch All That on Nickelodeon back when I was a kid and found him funny then (probably alot funnier than I find him now). He can be really funny tho.
He's good on SNL. The real question is, Where in the world in Kel?!? "who loves orange soda? I love orange soda, I do I do I dooowhoo."
I'd say he's average. OOOOOOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Whats up with that? Whats up with that? The prison inmate skit always delivers. Hader / Wiig / Samberg have made SNL watchable again. Stefon is hilarious.
Hader is hilarious, and I really like Armisen too. I've had that sparkling apple juice song stuck in my head as of late. I find Wiig funny, but I feel like she's overused and almost sort of hogs the show, which is annoying, especially when some of the other women are pretty funny.
If you like Armisen, check out his tv show Portlandia, its hilarious I agree that Wiig may be overused, but I think its because they dont have many women on the show, Abby Elliot is the only other female main cast member and she sucks
