The funny thing is - is that, at least in the first celtics series (not last years), this play actually worked a lot of the time becuase LeBron was playing out of his mind. The "go to the 4 corners and watch" being successful is a bigger commentary on the team they had rather than Brown in a way.

So they aren't hiring Adelman for the same reason we didn't resign him.

That should end the Rick jock riding.

To make things worse, that assistant coach is John Kuester. And we've seen the wonderful job he's done in Detroit this season. If Mike Brown is passing it on to someone like him......

With the Lakers sticking with Brown, maybe we could keep Brian Shaw a try?

    Awesome!

Honestly, I don't see the appeal of Brian Shaw to anyone but the Lakers and it turns out they wanted to go in a new direction. He needs to go to another franchise, be a successful lead assistant and let it happen from there.

Or maybe Golden State will hire him.

...why do I get the feeling Houston dodged a huge bullet here? Not only is Mike Brown not a great coach, he's coaching one of our rivals - it's like we won twice here!

    Lakers are screwed!!!

Mike Brown has no idea how to coach. He just gave the ball to LeBron in Cleveland and let him do whatever he wanted. Plays were probably called: LeBron 1, LeBron 2, LeBron 3, etc.

I can't believe how stupid LA is!

Morey needs to go after Brian Shaw right now!!

The poll on ESPN has these options for what kind of coach Brown is:

    Great
    Good
    Average
    Mediocre

He has a chance to show us it wasn't just Lebron back in Cleveland... Not sure if he will though. But good luck to him if he can get success out of the Fakers.

Brown in his last 2 years had a better record than the Heat this year. He just had LBJ quit on him in the playoffs and didn't have Wade and Bosh to help out like they have now. I hope no one seriously thinks Brown wouldn't have Miami right where they are now, or more likely waiting for this Dallas/OKC series to finish up. The thumbing of noses towards Brown is hilarious coming from the fans of a team about to hire Kevin McHale as "coach".

I think Mike Brown is getting quite underrated. Lebron's become a great defender, as he showed last night, and a lot of that has to do with the coaching of Brown and his staff. He came into the league as an awful defender. The Cavs were tops in the league in defense almost every year under his tenure. Clearly he's doing something right. I don't think TT has done better so far than Brown has done his entire career with the Cavs and the perception is vastly apart.

I wouldnt go that far. Look at the Bulls this year with Rose/Thibs & co. and you will see a big resemblence to the Lebron/Mike Brown/Cleveland era. Mike Brown is a classic defensive minded coach who just doesnt have enough on offense.

You have a team that can have the best record in the regular season due to a great team defense and one player would can zone in a be your entire offensive scheme... until the playoffs when you play the same team 7 times in a row and they finally figure out how to make that one play ineffective on offense.

Give Mike Brown the Lakers and you might have something. There is no question that this team will be one of the best defensive teams in the league. Now on offense he has alot more to work with, but getting those pieces to work together will not be a walk in the park. Kobe is not the same player that will be able to dominate on the pick and role players like Artest and Fisher will not be as effective with less motion in the offense.

All-in-all the Lakers will be better on defense, and worse on offense and will end up about the same overall given good health from key players and no major lockroom drama.

:grin:I guess this explains Mike Browns decisions up until this point. Good for him. Lakers?? I am just gonna say this. Phil Jackson cannot get you the best record in the NBA and another Championship? Mike Brown???
