what would have to happen to say the Texans "got our asses kicked up and down the field" then? That Giants game was brutal. The Texans had 24 yards rushing.
Gary Kubiak will appear on Total Access tonight on NFL Network. The show is doing a 32 teams in 32 days segment and the Texans will be discussed Tuesday. Total Access starts at 6pm. If you don't get NFL Network just go to nfl.com/video and the segment should be up sometime after 7pm.
Here is the video of Gary Kubiak on Total Access: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-netwo...ak-chats-Texans-draft-Mario-Williams-and-more Nothing was said that we didn't already know. Here's a video of JJ Watt at his hometown in Wisconsin: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-everything-to-prove/09000d5d81ffe057/Everything-to-Prove-Episode-15
Andre is doin' work for the Texans Front Office. Git' er done, Dre! http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...n-lobbying-for-texans-to-sign-nnamdi-asomugha
Kubiak video was just what you would expect. I think I even heard a real "we've got to continue to get better" in there. No references to "battle-fighting" though. The Watt video was good. Not so much the working out part, but the part at his house. The part with him mowing his parents lawn in his Texans shirt was funny, if not totally contrived. But his whole family seems so grounded that I wouldn't put it past them to make him do it - high draft pick or not. At the risk of sounding like Barry Warner.....I'm excited to see what this kid can do on the field.
Good news, everyone! We are going to have one helluva off-season once this lockout ends according to bleacher report (snicker...). According to BR, we are going to sign: WR Terrell Owens WR Santana Moss S Quintin Mikell CB Johnathan Joseph Why? Because we have no state income tax, our owner is ready to spend, spend, spend, and we're on the verge of being great. LOL. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...here-the-top-50-free-agents-are-headed/page/2
I understand the negativity but our owner has spent, spent, and spent. Just look at the season before last -- http://content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/football/nfl/salaries/team The Cowboys were at the bottom of the league in 2009-10. A veteran WR would be nice and I would be more than happy with Joseph.
I am in the belief that you shouldn't pay fullbacks a lot of money so if Leach wants a ton of money, let him walk and go sign Lawrence Vickers who isnt going be re-signed by the Browns. Vickers is a good fit in this offense and also from Houston.
We can't pay everyone obviously but I've never been crazy about Uncle Bob's policy on paying internal free agents. We sign overpriced/mediocre external free agents all the time but don't always reward our own guys. Recently Daniels and Winston have been fortunate recipients of contract extensions but we didn't pay Dunta and we may not pay for Leach. Our secondary was worse without Dunta and it turns out his price was market price after all cuz he did get paid.
I agree he was a big part but if he is asking for like 4 or 5 million a year, I wouldn't pay that much money to a fullback. I rather spend that money on defense. Leach should get credit for last year but at the same time, he was also the fullback in 2009 when the running game sucked.
1. Dunta may have gotten his market price, but that doesn't mean his production is/was worth it. I still wouldn't give him more $8M if I could go back in time. 2. They need to keep Vonta, but there's no sense in getting worked up about it today - absolutely nothing can or will happen until the lockout is settled. I'd like to believe a short offseason will have us more inclined to keep our own rather than play musical chairs with outside FAs. 3. How dumb does Kubiak have to be not to say "I'm not about to comment on any of that" http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/solomon/texans/7597166.html
