I forgot the Edge is AWD too, I'm a big fan of all of Ford's new line really. :)

I bought an '08 V6 Accord, fully loaded w/ 14k miles on it, for $21k a couple of months ago. It's not AWD, but I'm loving it so far...

I'd look into a Acura MDX if I were you. You can get a used fully loaded one with limited mileage and a model above 2005 easily for your price range and the features you want.

Subarus are the best handling cars in snow. I go to Tahoe regularly in the winter and Subarus work better than my friends AWD Lexus, Audis, AWD escapes, 4wd 4runners, etc.

I'm no expert....it's just how I buy cars. And it's worked for me in the past. I don't really look at the resale because I pay cash and intend to drive them into the ground.

Thanks for the help fellas. I like the Ford Edge, but the price is a little high. Anyone know anything about the Ford Escape?? I am wary of getting an Audi because of all the problems they supposedly have. Would a used BMW be any better? I know Subaru's are pretty good but to me they are just plain ugly.

i'd be hesitant for a used BMW unless it still has some years/miles left on the warranty.

You might try looking at a mazda cx-9. They have had good reviews and solid reliability.

Yeah that's great. I am just saying your 25% claim is fantasy. The first year of ownership certainly costs the most but it is also the best year to own it.

My buddy got his Escape a year back for $24k fully loaded out the door. It's a solid truck that he took up to Tahoe about a 6 or 7 times this past ski season.

If you need the extra space, a preowned Honda Pilot might be worth a look.

Before you buy a car check fulley.com & to make sure you can afford the gas mileage that it really gets in real life. This high gas is easing off but will go up again before next year is over

Go to BARNES & NOBLE & get the new & used car buying guide.

I like the new fords and some friends have the 2010 and one has a 2011 Edge they both love them but both admit the in town gas mileage is bad the 2010 edge was traded off 2 weeks ago for a VW Jetta TDI there in town mileage is 15 mpg better then the Edge was and it is not near broken in yet.

The new escape body style is coming out soon. You might want to wait until they hit the market in a few months.
