They had this group traveling around to different churches that preaches against contraceptives- they have the same philosophy- "if it's God's will for you to have __ babies, so be it." I actually went up to one of them and said, "You know, there is a scenario in which an individual may actually want to have sex and deserves that right without wanting to take on the responsibility of childhood. According to the blog post and the source articles linked, Pacquiao is opposing a bill that would ensure government provided condoms, not banning them for sale. He might want to ban them, but it says nothing of the sort in the article.

You do know that everytime you have sex (unless it is medically impossible) there is a chance of a child being produced regardless of the precautions you take - correct? Therefore, no one is guaranteed the 'right to have sex without wanting to take on the responsibility of childhood'.

The point is that regardless of what precautions you take, a baby may be produced. Prior to engaging in that act, both parties should be prepared for that eventuality regardless of the slim chance. If they are not willing to accept that possibility, they should not engage in that act.

I am also curious as to why he thinks we have the right to engage in intercourse without the possibility of a child. I have never heard of that right.
