Mark Cuban for me, give me an owner that will spend to win, regardless of the salary cap over one that gives lip service to the same thing.

Cuban as owner and keep Morey as GM.

Cuban's benjamins and passion with Morey's brains.

    Thats a potent mix:

Both if you can. The rockets would be much a better team running by those two.

Cuban is great in the sense that he throws money at that team, but at the same token is still somewhat reserved. Cuban's downside is that his teams have as much if not more turnover than ours. Turnover means less development. Riley was just damn lucky. There is no other way to slice it. Getting the super friends (if he didn't violate any league rules, which I seriously doubt) was just luck. True, he positioned his team to do be able to do it, but at the same token dumping dead weight isn't as hard as people make it seem. He was lucky Dwade wanted back.

Is either one better than what we currently have? Eh, not really. If Yao was healthy we wouldn't even be having this conversation...

Cuban runs his mouth, Riley by a mile.

And Les is a much better owner that Cuban.

cuban as the owner, riley as the gm and morey as his right hand man, and phil jackson as our coach....this thread is a pipe dream.

My pick would be riley this dude got 3 all stars in one team and got them to happily take pay cuts.

A rich owner or a competent GM?

    Tough question. How about both?

I don't care if Mark Cuban is so rich his sperm is made out of liquid gold. I would NEVER want that arrogant, infantile, classless b*stard affiliated with my beloved Rockets.

As for Pat Riley, I feel like what he's best at is putting himself in really good positions. Being President/GM of Houston isn't that. We're not a glamorous destination and never will be.

I'm sticking with Les and Morey.

Riley is a dominant figure that would be nice to have with the team.

Cuban has money, and that's all you need from an owner. All the crap he pulls doesn't have a significant impact on the team.

I'm happy with Morey and Les, though. But having more money is always an upgrade.

Riley is over rated. 3 seasons of garbage and 1 15 win season with Wade on your team is not a good sign for a team president.

No doubt he is an awesome coach but if I think everyone knows it was Wade who assembled the current team.

    This.

Les TALKS about willing to go over the cap to be competitive/contender. Cuban actually DOES it.

As much as I hate Cuban, mostly because he's with the mavs, I would love to have him in Houston.
