I thought they had to have like a control sample or something? And I thought there was a report at one time where his B sample was found to be positive, but it was thrown out because of poor testing protocols.

In any case, just end the charade and test his B samples. That should end debate pretty quickly.

If tests came out positive, he would claim that the samples must have been manipulated and that it must be because the French hate America and Americans, yada yada. If tests came out negative...who knows it's really his blood or urine? Can DNA testing be done on that as well?

I think that's exactly what happened when they found that positive B sample. Unless I'm thinking of another rider, but I'm pretty sure it was Lance.

    this is true.

I have also read that no other athlete in the world in any sport has had to put up with the crap that Lance has had to deal with. I read somewhere that Lance came home one night and the urine police were waiting on his doorstep to get a suprise sample. The Euro's have been trying for so long to get Lance and never could prove anything that it just makes them crazy. Time to drop it and admit that Lance was just the greatest Cycler in the history of the sport. If they would have had something on him it would have surfaced by now.

    do you really believe this?

he was always one step ahead of the tests and they don't re-test the extra samples by policy. When they have he came back positive - but of course it was thrown out due to procedure etc

they all dope, he was just the best at it with the biggest bank and technology

Part of the Fed's hard on is busting him for being a ringleader not just an abuser/perjurer like Bonds/Clemens as well as doing this while being in a contract with USPS

Tiger will be next if he isn't careful:eek:

Nope, they havent. well the Spanish Federation, said he was clean, but the International Union, havent ended their investigation.

But he got a positive test, so he should be suspended, why nobody cares Contador gets a free pass?

This post is hilarious because the first half is you explaining what his stupid excuse will be if he's guilty and the second half is you giving your stupid excuse if he's not guilty. LOL

Good point, but the first half has actually already happened. The second part is based on me wondering how it can be possible in a sport that almost everyone dopes, but almost nobody gets caught.

its not a matter of what i believe its a matter of what is. its not even disputable that he is the most hated cyclist in europe and they have pulled out all the stops to try and prove he cheats but with no success. no other athlete has had to deal with the type of scrutiny and unethical practices aimed soley at discrediting his name than Lance Armstrong. if he were from france or italy this issue would have been dropped once he successfully passed his first drug test.

Armstrong and Clemens are two of the worst character guys in recent sports history and they are both from Texas/Austin. Coincidence?

So...looks like Armstrong and Hamilton ran into each other in a restaurant in Colorado the other day, and Armstrong took the opportunity to threaten and insult Hamilton.

FBI wants tape of Hamilton-Armstrong meeting

LOS ANGELES -- The FBI has contacted a Colorado restaurant to get surveillance tapes of a conversation between seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong and former teammate Tyler Hamilton over the weekend.

Hamilton went on "60 Minutes" last month and accused Armstrong of doping repeatedly and encouraging his teammates to using performance-enhancing drugs as well.

Armstrong and Hamilton ran into each other at a restaurant in Aspen on Saturday night.

Hamilton attorney Chris Manderson says his client was rattled by some of Armstrong's comments. Armstrong and one of his lawyers say the conversation was uneventful.

A co-owner of the restaurant, which is called Cache Cache, said Tuesday that the FBI was coming to take the restaurant's surveillance tapes. It's unclear whether the conversation was captured on tape.

A federal grand jury in Los Angeles has been investigating doping in cycling for more than a year, with Armstrong as a primary focus.

    ------------------

Over the weekend, Lance Armstrong and Tyler Hamilton, one-time cycling teammates, had a confrontation at a Colorado restaurant. Now, the AP reports, the FBI has asked the restaurant to hand over surveillance tape.

As we reported last month, Hamilton made very specific doping accusations against the seven-time Tour de France winner on CBS News' 60 Minutes. ESPN reports on what likely was the first meeting between the two since the interview aired:

The two cyclists crossed paths at an Aspen, Colo., restaurant Saturday night, said Hamilton attorney Chris Manderson. He said Hamilton told him Armstrong repeatedly asked how much he had been paid to do the television interview, and added that his legal team would "(expletive) destroy you," "tear you apart on the witness stand," and "make your life a living (expletive) hell."

    ...

Jodi Larner, co-owner of the upscale Cache Cache bistro where the incident took place and a personal friend of Armstrong's, told a diametrically opposed version of events. She said she was standing close to Armstrong when Hamilton walked by. Larner said she did not overhear the entire conversation, which she characterized as brief. But based on the body language of the two men and what she did hear, she said, "It was not combative. It was not hostile... There were no threats. There were very few words exchanged. There was no scene made."

Manderson said he informed federal authorities about the incident, because Hamilton is a "probable" witness against Armstrong in a federal grand jury investigation. The AP reports that Manderson said Hamilton was "rattled by some of Armstrong's comments." The AP adds that it is unclear whether the incident was caught on tape.

Armstrong is a very strong character guy in a sport that hates Americans.

I love how you highlight Hamilton's lawyers account, but the eye/ear witness (which you're so fond of relying on!), you completely gloss over.

Yes, because the lady is a) a close friend of Armstrong, b) said herself that she didn't hear what was said. I wonder if the tapes show anything, that would be good.

What he says is absolutely in line with similar behavior Armstrong has displayed in the past, like when he tried to silence and humiliate the Italian rider at the Tour de France, like when he made death threats to Greg LeMond and like all the other times he tries to defend himself by launching threats and personal attacks against potential witnesses. Armstrong was the one who apparently blocked Hamilton's way when he was coming from the restroom. You think he did that to exchange compliments and Christmas cards? Yeah right.
