    T-Mac's career TS% is 51.9% vs Stackhouse's 52.4%. Sorry, T-Mac's as much of a chucker as Stackhouse.
T-Mac's career PER is 22.4 vs Jerry Stackhouse's 21.8 in his best season 01-02. I stand by what i said. T-Mac's career is slightly better than Stackhouse's best season, which isn't that impressive even though he scored 30 pts a game. Outside of that one miracle season where he hit 30 in PER, T-Mac had been closer to iversons and stackouses of the world than kobes and lebrons.

For real. He already done what Mcgrady has done at 22 years old, besides all the all star appearances.

One more thing, since you measure athletes careers by playoff moment and championship rings, is Robert Horry a better basketball player than Karl Malone?

Lets see you answer this question without making yourself look like an idiot or contradicting your above statements. I highly doubt that you are capable of doing it.

Why are you comparing Stackhouse's best season to T-Mac's career, because it is totally irrelevant to begin with? Since, we are disregarding T-Mac's best seasons in all of this, and Stackhouse only matched his TS% in one season. Yet, only shot 40% from the field and a 9.2 win share. That's not very effective in winning. T-Mac's player efficiency rating in that same season was 25.1, which was 3rd in the NBA, yeah he is also accidentally 26th all time in player efficiency rating. Stackhouse is 211th all time, NBA/ABA. 198 in NBA only all time ranking. Allen Iverson is 48th (NBA/ABA)/46th (NBA). Lastly, T-Mac was in top 3 in PER rating 4 straight years in a row (3rd,3rd,1st,3rd) from 2000-2004. Allen Iverson only had 3 seasons in top 10 PER rating, never above 7th.

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/mcgratr01.html

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/per_career.html

He ranks ahead of Dwight Howard; Moses Malone; Bob Lanier; Dominique Wilkins; and Adrian Dantley.

He is only a few points behind, Amare; Elgin Baylor; Jerry West; and our other former superstar ... Yao Ming.

It's also funny that you mentioned Kobe's PER rating, because if you want to get technical with PER rating and TS%, Kobe is much closer to T-Mac than he is Michael Jordan. T-Mac has two scoring title, it would be silly to say he was never an elite scorer or at least one of them in the league at any point in his career. In his best years, T-Mac was also a 45% shooter, which is not bad at all. T-Mac was an elite scorer for a good seven seasons, while Stackhouse had one year where he equaled T-Mac's career TS% and point per game nearly. Yet, he is on par with that player for one season, and that player's production that year is equal (possibly) scoring wise to what the superior player did his entire career.

It's also weird how you never mentioned anything about T-Mac's playoff numbers, which are 24.7 in PER rating (8th all time); 28.5 ppg; 6.9 rebounds; and 6.2 assists.

Did you even watch the NBA during the early 2000s? Nobody in their right mind would ever compare Stackhouse's scoring effectivness to T-Mac. You grasping for straws with these stats. I've watched both players, almost the entire careers, Stackhouse never had the same type of potential or achievements as a scorer that T-Mac did. T-Mac was electrifying and could easily carry an offense (with or without his scoring), which is being consistently overlooked. He's gotten some really bad teams into the playoffs and carried on his back, look what he did with the Rockets. Stackhouse was more a

Most important factor of all, you know how many games Detroit won that year . . . 32 total. T-Mac accidentally took the Magic to the playoffs, every year except one season, he was hurt. He did the same thing with the Rockets, unless he was significantly injured for most games. Stackhouse's best seasons (scoring), his numbers went down in the playoffs, unlike T-Mac's. Now that is saying something.

    Tmac is better than Stackhouse.
    People should know this.

Kevin Durant is rapidly passing Tmac in accomplishments.
    People should see this trend.

    Kobe > Tmac.
If people don't understand this fact, then aliens who abduct these TOFs will find they have no brain inside their heads. TOFs would rank lower than mitochondria in the chain of intelligence.

Good old tinman. I remember when I used to think you hated Tracy but then I came to find out you're really just a hurt fan.

And no one here believe t-mac is better than Kobe, people only say in their prime there was a good debate on who was better. Thats pretty much a fact as well.

you could reread his posts here and how he couldn't handle the truth and started to throw out names out of a hat like it was a white elephant party of nba players. adam morrison?

i guess there are all levels of mcgrady fans.
there are some who live in absolute denial . Years and years of great players winning championships have not even phased their opinion on what tier of NBA player he belongs on.

Why Durant? is he the new ice cream flavor of the month the lactose intolerant fans can't taste?

Who's next? Is [next nba phenom that actually had team success] really that much better than Tmac?

I'm a Rockets fan. I love Kenny Smith and Sam Cassell. They weren't as good as Magic Johnson.

Yao Ming, love the guy. He's not Shaq, or Wilt or Kareem.

Is it so OBVIOUS that this thread is about jealousy for TMac fans?
Why can't it just be. "Is Kevin Durant really that good?"

Oh my, how persistent of you.

Let's not forget that as soon as I questioned Allen/Miller and O'Neal/Dream, you jumped out like a rabid dog with your less than kind first reply

And among all those playoffs successes, there lies the all the failures. It seems Allen ended up failing less by grabbing the opportunity when it presented itself, while Miller never managed to...or are you here to tell me none of Reggie's teams ever had a chance, despite having someone like him on the teams?

You'd have a point if Shaq's career ended the same time as Hakeem's, unfortunately Shaq continued to have great years even after the Rockets as a whole were done.

    Right.

You think it's clever to call someone "****ing r****ded" like every other redneck across the country does? Do you even have any standards?

If not by playoff performances and successes, then what? How often they ballhog during the regular season?

How incredibly presumptuous, it continues make you appear as someone who's not worth talking to.

    Sure bob.

Horry had had his moments, yea. Actually wasn't just known for hitting a few shots in his younger years either. However you're comparing Horry to a guy like Malone who carried the scoring load for his whole team?

Why are you so bad at comparing players and picking out arguments?

I am calling you a ****ing r****d because you are a ****ing r****d. **** being politically correct. I am not going to pretend that you are intelligent. My first post regarding this argument was asking if you were on crack following you asking if somebody else was on crack, then you proceeded to call me a "sheep" and "hero worshipper." Do not twist the facts. You are a classless swine and a douchebag. Don't even know why I am wasting my time (actually I do, it is hilarious to push you around and watch you try to "defend" your ridiculous claims by continually contradicting yourself, using ridiculous ways to judge careers and claim that everybody else are sheep for not conforming to your ridiculous ways).

Yes, Shaq had many great years following Hakeem's tenure in the league, similar to how Hakeem had many great years prior to Shaq's tenure in the league. What is your point? You have yet to dispute any area in which Shaq excels at over Hakeem. Can you at least admit that Hakeem was the more skilled player if you do not want to admit that he was a better player? (despite the fact that he led not as talented teams to the promise land and dominated an era which was loaded with bigmen). ONCE AGAIN, YOU KEEP ATTEMPTING TO ARGUING WITH ME WITHOUT DISPUTING ANY OF MY POINTS. IT IS QUITE RIDICULOUS.

So I cannot compare Malone (first option on every team he has been on) with Horry while I can compare Reggie Miller (first option on almost every team he has been on) with Ray Allen (third option on his one successful team)? Once again, your flawed logic for the loss.

I never said Tmac wasn't a better player than Stackhouse. he definitely was a better player overall. my whole point was that Tmac's not that efficient of a scorer. and i just have a preference for high-efficiency scoring.

That's fine, but I would like to point this out. High-Effciency scoring, ok. We have shooting guard who fits that description now, Kevin Martin. His TS% is very similar to Kevin Durant's. He's also great at getting to the line; shooting high percentage free throws; pretty good percentage 3 point shooter; and a decent eFG% (effective field goal percentage). Also, he averaged 25.9 points last year over 80 games.

Yet the Rockets struggled and eventually fail out of playoff contention. Every year T-Mac played at least 75 games, his teams made the playoffs. Statistics aren't the end all to be all. It's funny T-Mac is not as efficient in scoring as say other shooting guards, like Kevin Martin; Monta Ellis; or even say Jason Richardson. People like to knock T-Mac for not getting past the first round, haven't really either, especially not being on a team where they are the only go-to scorer. Jason Richardson was surrounded by all sorts of scoring talents in Golden State and Phoenix; while you could say the same about Monta Ellis.

I believe a prime T-Mac could have taken both this years' and last years' Rockets into playoffs, easily.

High efficiency scoring is a good thing to have, but it has to be a part of a total package of sorts. How well is that player is effecting the outcome of the game, which is somewhat measured by player efficiency rating. Is it a coincidence that neither Jason Richardson and Monta Ellis as more efficient scorers have never had a season, where they had a player efficiency rating on par to 20.0. Kevin Martin has only had 3 seasons at or beyond 20.0, 21.4 (10-11); 21.0 (07-08); and 20.1 (06-07).

T-Mac has only had 5 seasons, where his PER rating was under 20.0, while having one at 20.0 or better for 9 consecutive seasons. About 4 of these are post-injury and him being on the downside of his career. Which is why
people are not really looking taking into consideration T-Mac's best years (which are mostly in Orlando).

That T-Mac season in 2002-2003 was at the level of a prime Kobe/Lebron.

Durant is not on that level

tmac was one of the most talented players to ever have touched a basketball. Unfortunately, talent alone doesnt always cut it.

But as of right now, i'd take a prime tmac over the current durant. But, durant still has room to improve.
