Maybe that was the one I was thinking of. Haven't' been in there in a while either.

Is that the one where he says that he see people go into McDonald's and stand there trying to make up their minds when the menu hasn't changed in 20 years? lol

That seems like potentially a lot of minimum wage jobs being cast aside, could/should this be regulated against? Or is it possible that the high customer volume during lunch and weekends will just make in unfeasible?

Maybe this is what one of my local McDonald's is trying out. During the lunch rush they actually have a worker outside taking orders manually with a touch screen. Anybody else see anything like this around their town?

Sacrifice efficiency to keep the poor employed. It's a tough call for a business.

They already have them in Europe, and Burger King still has them in some of their restaurants. It works well except when you have some r****d in front of you who can't figure out how to press the screen.

I think I remember seeing one like that inside the Houston Museum of Natural Science, of all places.

I get the feeling this thread will be amusing to look at in about 20 years when this kind of thing is the norm. 5 year old: "Daddy, tell me about the time there were people who took your order?"

I like McD's oatmeal and yogurt parfaits. Just because of those 2 items, I can't hate it anymore.

There are what, like 1400 McDonalds in the US and counting? Could this result in about 100,000 lost jobs?

Of course it will be the norm eventually, I doubt anyone is doubting that. But the transition phase is going to be full of all kinds of funny fails I imagine.

The Oatmeal at McD's has more sugar than a snickers bar, btw. :p

So each McDonald's has about 71 people on hand to take my order? WOW!
