If this succeeds, look for this to happen in all major fast food chains.

I see a lot of backed up lines, pranks and other things that will happen because of this.

I cannot wait until this happens at like DINERs etc. Sit down restuarant [but it might be expensive to have them at every table.
This should not be that big of a deal. I suspect the mistakes will be a problem

    "I said Extra Pickles!"
"Did you click the Minus Pickles or the Plus Pickles?"
"I picked the one with the pickle picture on it"
"Well sir there are two buttons with Pickles on it. . one minus and one plus"
    "I DIDN'T SEE NO D*MN SECOND BUTTON!!"

    Considering . . . having worked in Helpdesk . . .
where people constantly tell you there is NO_____ Key
[which is a Key that is on every keyboard produced]
and willing to curse you out about it .. . .
I think this will be interesting at best.

I could see this working very well.

Especially if the system shows a picture of the finished item. Almost anytime I get fast food, I don't know what comes on the whatever burger and I have to ask, and generally the person taking my order doesn't know either or gives me the *SIGH* lettucepicklesonionssausecheese through the screech machine.

If I saw a picture of an onion, and I could move/remove with a swipe, that would be self explanatory for anyone not 100 years old.

As far as cost goes... you've got to be kidding me. Assume the same internals as a Barnes and Noble color nook with a high end commercial touch screen. $600 total? 3 weeks worth of minimum wage pay.
