    These newfound Dirk lovers need to realize that he has been going off against Gasol and Nick Collison. These are not ideal defenders for a perimiter based PF. Please remember Dirk's struggles in the Portland series, when they had a PF that could move, could play post D, and other long athletes that hold Dirk the best. And remember that the Heat have Bosh, Haslem and LeBron. My prediction is you won't see Dirk dropping 40 point games in the Finals.

    Have you not been watching the defense Collison has been putting on Dirk?
    a) it did shut him down in game 3
    b) we shut him down using Ryan Bowen once upon a time
    c) last night Dirk was scoring while a 6-10 badger was raping him on every play

    Bosh and Haslem aren't going to play any better on Dirk than what Collison has been giving him the last two games. And Bosh isn't likely up for the challenge to begin with.

    LeBron guarding Dirk is a possibility if he goes bonkers.

    I'd probably be bitter, if I hadn't expected this outcome. Brooks putting Thabo in when Beard fouled out is just idiotic. Thabo wasn't going to help stop Dirk, and he wasn't going to help score. Adelman for head coach.

    But secretly you might envy them to have an owner caring so much about the team, and so willing to spend.

    For people talking about rivalry etc, they need to get the facts straight. Historically, when we won 2 championships, there was NO rivalry. 2 vs 0 is infinitely better. But in recent years, there was no rivalry either, because they are so much better - 11 50-win seasons, very soon will be 2 finals appearance vs advancing to second round ONCE.

    Sure, all fans are homers, but we got to be realistic, especially when we laugh at fans of other teams.

    We are no one's rival now. We are too crappy to have a rival. Let's get back to elite status first.

    LBJ, Wade, Bosh think they are just so awesome and are going to win several championships without even working/earning it. The Mavs have stayed low key, dont have this look at me attitude and just play the right way.
    Plus they swpet the Lakers. Just for this playoffs I am rooting for the Mavs.

    Dirk put up 27 points per game against Aldridge and the Blazers in the 1st round. Struggle? Are you high?

    Dirk has faced every conceivable defensive option these playoffs. Aldridge, Camby, Gasol, Odom, Bryant, Durant, Collison, Ibaka, etc. Ibaka and Collison have been the best thus far at making Dirk work. It just doesn't MATTER.
