tinman, thank you for the post, but the important question is how a young Yao Ming reacted to these games. My sources have yet to leak their info.
I'm resurrecting this thread considering our old friend Scott Brooks was on that team that was labeled "Choke City". I wonder if Clutchfans existed during 94, what kind of doomsday posts would flood this place? Would they call for Rudy T's head?
Dude, seeing that list at the bottom..."the pain, the pain".... I was at the 79 Cotton Bowl and there in the Pit with PSJ. 80 and 86 Astros too....watched the other two on the tube...just brutal. I don't think anything will ever exorcise those demons, but the Rockets closing the deal back to back definitely helps. (to say the least)
What's with the revival of old threads today? First a Dirk for Yao thread from 07 and this one as well? It is the year 2011 right???
Didn't want to start a 'new' thread about Choke City. Maybe some new fans would read how bad it was for us.
It must have been an amazing feeling to go through the tough times and enjoy the benefits for being a die hard fan. I TRULY wish I was a part if that. But unfourtanelty I was only a year old when that happened. Been a rockets fan ever since I started watching basketball. I am waiting patiently to reap the benefits of this championship drought no matter how long it takes. Will not be a bandwagon fan for any team. I can and I will wait along with my true rockets fans.
Choking is obviously worse than predicted mediocrity. Dallas fans have lived Houston's choke city stretch for years and years. Up until now. Damn it.
