The wind gusts were crazy in Austin last night.

When haven't countries offered to help when we have had natural and man made disasters?

Disagree with what?? There's nothing to disagree with. The fear those people had at the time was real and due to them not knowing what would go down. You can't agree or disagree with how they felt at the time or what someone also feels while watching it.

I don't know, I don't recall many of the rich oil countries sending over $$$$ when Katrina hit.

And hilariously enough, it was precisely the "oil rich" countries that donated by far and away the most money.

Before this starts going into a D&D direction, I want to send my condolences to the families and friends of the victims of these disasters.

No no, not going to stop helping folks, I just find it absurd that we are the ones that every country turns to, and asks for help.

In times of crisis, everyone wants to know what the US is doing to help.....I am glad we help, but man, there are a lot of slacker nations out there.

There is this amazing thing called the Internet where you can find out all sorts of stuff. In addition, they have this amazing tool called 'google'. You can enter all sorts of key words or phrases and this 'google' thing will point you to information.

Wow, I was going to go up around the Bentonville/Rogers area this past weekend, too. So sad what's going on up there. :(

Look, I've been watching the coverage on CNN and I have some relatives in that vicinity so it hits home, I was just expecting much more from that video after reading the comments about it before I viewed it. It simply just didn't have an effect on me. I couldn't see anything and whatever building they were in was still in tact when it was over with. If you watch the news and see the pictures, the buildings that the tornado hit were flattened, which leads me to believe that where this video was shot was on the outskirts of the tornado and one poster said they were right in the eye of the storm there. I just don't think that is accurate.

I spent the day yesterday helping with clean up in North Minneapolis and it is pretty bad, blocks and blocks of downed trees, and damaged houses. We only had one person die in the tornado here so I can't imagine how bad it must be down in Joplin.
