Blazers announce they've dismissed GM Rich Cho after all of one full season in charge. Scouting director Chad Buchanan named interim GM

What the hell was he supposed to do in one season? Find Brandon Roy a robotic leg?

    Unbelievable.

Shocking. What happened? It can't be performance related after only one season.

OKC will probably gladly rehire him.

Time for Morey to hire him as a assistant.

    (speculation)

Aftermath of Cho wanting Roy suspended for his comments to the media in the playoffs? - He was overruled by the owner and coach.

The Blazers lost Brandon Roy, and he brought in Gerald Wallace. What else was he supposed to do? Had to have been an internal issue, cause 1 season isn't enough to judge a general manager.

Looks like he was fired for trying to assert his authority.

Ridiculous, sort of reminds me of GS and their coaches, you gotta give some time to grow. It's not like he made bad moves(he brought in Gerald Wallace for nearly nothing!).

I think it was more because nobody could stand his sister, Margaret.

Another possibility is a disagreement on the Oden contract.

One year as GM, acquires Gerald Wallace for nothing and is then let go?

After less than a year, Portland dumps GM Rich Cho. Chad Buchanan made acting GM. What a mess of a franchise.

Trail Blazers have parted ways with Rich Cho. Director of College Scouting Chad Buchanan to serve as acting GM

Blazers have now fired Kevin Pritchard AFTER he ran their 2010 draft night and then Cho after one season to replace him. Who wants next?

Some smart team will scoop Cho up and put him in an assistant GM/executive role. And that team will be better for it.

It's a shame: Cho is a very smart guy who deserved a real shot. But Blazers management never entrusted him to make the key decisions.

Blazers never, ever gave Rich Cho a real chance to run the team. Rival execs always believed Miller was running the show

With Paul Allen, Larry Miller and Vulcans, no GM will ever please them. They want a weak-minded person willing to be controlled. A waste.

Wow! Portland's management is in turmoil. This doesn't look good for them. From the outside, it seems like they don't want a GM who thinks for himself. The Vulcans do it again.

Updates will probably clarify and maybe the Blazers don't look so bad.

Guy signs Wesley Matthew for a good deal, gets Gerald Wallace, and gets fired after one year? The ****?

Unless he was groping Paul Allen's daughter or something, this is just ridiculous.

More or less ridiculous than Pritchard being told he was fired, but asked to still complete the draft?

Both firings were pretty bad, IMO. But I couldn't believe that Portland still asked Pritchard to complete their draft last year. I am even more surprised he is still unemployed. Maybe he wants some time off before his next gig. I was worried he would join the Knicks.
