A couple of tornadoes struck Minneapolis and suburbs today. One carved a swath for more than five miles across the northwestern corner of Minneapolis and even jumped the Mississippi. Luckily only one person died in a car but this considering it went through residential areas on a weekend this could've been much worse. My house wasn't affected but I could hear the emergency sirens going off. <iframe src='http://widget.newsinc.com/single.html?WID=2&VID=23417074&freewheel=90086&sitesection=mstlocal_oth' height='400' width='630' scrolling='no' fromeborder='0' marginwidth='0' marginheight='0'></iframe>

This video is incredible. I was eating while watching it and suddenly I was unable to swallow the food in my throat. <iframe width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cQnvxJZucds?rel=0&hd=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
^Utterly amazing. They were in the middle of the eye of the tornado. I dare say not many live to tell the tale much less shoot it.
Watched the coverage on GMA this morning...insane. does anyone mind telling me what's in the video since it's nearly pitch black the whole time? tornado sounds??
Bunch of people huddled up in a gas station. The sounds of the tornado, windows blowing out. Howling / screaming sounds of the winds. People screaming, crying, praying, saying they love everyone etc. The audio is amazing.
Disagree. That video had no effect on me. I couldn't see anything and it didn't sound too severe other than some people overreacting a bit.
Let's see if the rest of the world rushes to help our citizens as they expect us to do for theirs. DD
Thanks, Uprising. This is really interesting (natural disaster related) http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011/05/01/weekinreview/01safe.html We are #4 on the list.
