I'm still too scurred to try Insanity. Just watching the preview video makes me exhausted. But I am wanting to lean down just a tad more before building real muscle mass. Maybe I'll try it out one week.
Arms & Shoulders today. Sad that it's the last time I do that workout this round. Love it, and I actually had the correct sets of dumbbells today, so I felt an extra burn. I have heard such great things about Insanity. I'm only about 8 pounds away from my goal weight, but I still have flab to lose, especially in my midsection and butt. I think Insanity is perfect for what I want to accomplish. I'm leaning toward a P90X/Insanity hybrid for Round 2, although I might try a week of just Insanity first. I'll post one after my 90 days are up.
Quick question, and I apologize if this has been addressed already but this thread is epic in length & don't want to scour the whole thing. Let's say you make it through your 90 days, or otherwise reach your goals of fitness, fat loss, muscle gain, etc. How much work does it take to maintain your new body after that? How often and how intensely are your workouts once you've reached your goal? Can your diet be less strict? Or in order to maintain such a high level of fitness, leanness, muscle mass, etc, one must do P90X-type exercise for the rest of their lives?
It all comes down to balancing your calories. Once you reach your goal all you want to do is cancel out your incoming calories to maintain it. Let me put it this way, if your car has a tank of gasoline (calories) stored, then it needs to be driven a lot to burn it off and reach empty (your goal). Once you reach it, you can fill it up again, but you'll need to run around again to cancel it out. On the other hand, if you add only a quarter, then you won't have to drive around as much to burn it off. So to maintain, either A) eat more and work out more , B) eat less and work out less) or c) eat the same and work out the same.
Do you workout now? I'd imagine once you've seen the changes to your body after the 90 days, it would be pretty hard not to keep up some level of exercise and diet control. Fitness is a lifelong journey.
Finished week 12 on Saturday!!! Now, I'm debating if I want to do the final recovery week or just start round 2.
I did core synergistics for the first time last night...I don't think I've ever sweat that much before.
Day 79. Last week before final recovery week. Holy ****, chest/shoulder/triceps is hard. Honestly I don't know how many times I'm going to fall on my face before I learn to skip the one-arm pushups. glad_ken, congrats, let us know what you end up doing!
Was feeling a bit irritable earlier and really didn't want to do plyo today, but I got through it and now I feel great. Even when I don't feel like doing P90X, I always remember how good I feel afterward and it gets me going every time. I've found the Gatorade Prime pre-game fuel pouch to be perfect for plyo. I can't tell you how easily I start feeling sick during this workout if I have liquid in my stomach. It's just a small pouch and I drink it about 30-45 minutes before I start the workout, then I take one tiny sip of water during each break. It's been like night and day the past couple weeks, I haven't been cramping or feeling sick, light-headed or wiped out at all.
I've posted a similar deal before, but this one is better, I think. Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells for $239.40. I think that's about 40% off. It's cheaper than you can get them used on eBay.
Ugh. I'm so tempted to get these. *edit: Just bought them. The bands I bought were too light, these should work much better, and the resale value is good if I ever need to dump em.
So can I work this on my own pace like 1 day workout, the following day, rest off?? I could do it every day but damn I just don't have that time.. Will I see an improvement if I do it like that??
finals, do you need a set of resistance bands? these are the ones I'm looking to sell if you're interested: http://www.amazon.com/ProSource-Pre...N802/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1305899229&sr=8-2
I'm glad someone took advantage, but I wouldn't have guessed it would have been you. Since you're a trainer, I would have thought you'd have stacks of dumbbells sitting around.
I retired from the PT game a little over a year ago, but even then, I never kept equipment in-house. I can't rep you right now, but I'll hit you up later for sure.
Legs and Back was brutal today. I decided to go running after yoga yesterday and I think I wore out my quads. They were burning before I even got out of bed this morning. Sweat was just pouring off my face by the middle of the workout. those lunges are brutal after a **** ton of pullups. I hate to say it, but the Legs and Back workout annoys me. None of the other workouts do. And it's because of the people in it. Sophia and Tony are fine, but Dreya and Eric get on my nerves. I think it's because of the loud noises they make. I know I shouldn't get so annoyed by something like that, but I can't help it, it's been like 8 or 9 weeks in a row now and I seem to notice it more and more. When Dreya starts making the sex sounds during the calf raises, I feel like punching my TV. ABX went well. Sometimes I don't know if I'm doing the V-up rollups correctly, everyone in the video's legs seem to come up much higher than mine. I've tried to get that height but it just seems impossible. Oh well, I guess it's just room to improve. Nah, I have a couple that I don't really use. Thanks for the offer though!
Just started doing Insanity for the second time. I missed making my puddles of sweat. I recommend the program for anyone that is trying to tone up. Fat burns like candle wax.
