That's a good clip from the ADL. What was lost in all of this was Obama's strong stance of the U.S. as an ally of Israel, and he stressed how strong that connection was.

But people got up in arms about the pre 1967 border statement.

Extraordinary: Netanyahu tells Obama to his face: "Go pluck yourself."

Yeah, Netanyahu has always been a real jackass. It isn't surprising. He's a warmonger, and generally a jerk.

I'm irritated that anyone could be so blunt/rude to the President of the United States. On the other hand, Obama, because of his inexperience and naivete, absolutely begged to be insulted. Obama's border statement should have come after negotiations that made it a fait accompli.

the 1967 border thing isn't new, and is what Israel should do. I guess he's mad because it was said and it wasn't discussed with him first. I know that his view on Israel's borders and settlements and Palestinians in general is far from balanced, so I don't expect anything too different from him.

I don't have a problem with Obama exposing him for the a-hole that he is.

Do you work from a little cardboard sheet that lists all the current tea party buzzwords?

I don't think Netanyahu was the one who was exposed.

It isn't surprising but we have a very different opinion then. The guy isn't interested in peace, and he shows his contempt for it in rude ways. Obama shouldn't have to placate Israel. They aren't the ones giving us aid.

thumbs, what does the statement below mean?

"Any final status agreement must be reached between the two parties, and changes to the 1949 Armistice lines must be mutually agreed to."

    hint: 1949 Armistice lines=pre 1967 borders

Although Obama deserves props for making it a priority I am pretty sure its the collective hardwork of the military, CIA, intelligence agencies, navy seals, etc, and a whole lot of people over the YEARS that caught Bin Laden and not Obama personally. He just basically had to pull the trigger "go".

The words are as meaningless today as the words of the Treaty of Versailles. Arab countries attacked Israel several times since 1949 and lost every time. Have you ever heard the saying, "To the victor go the spoils"? Just as we dictated terms at the end of WWII, Israel dictated the tems which still stand more han 40 years later. Had the Arab nations NOT attacked, the 1949 border agreements would still be relevant and, more than likely, intact.
