LOL :) No, I haven't watched him play in person. Just a lot of video and a couple of conversations... nothing too earth-shattering. It's Valanciunas that I know almost nothing about. I could see them going SF also, but the Rockets have to get some size. They seem to always go best available regardless of need, but this is the biggest need the team has had in some time.

I think when it is that high up in the draft you can go more need than BPA, as opposed to lower in the draft when it is more of a crap shoot to begin with. Don't tell that to Portland though...

I like Kanter a lot too. The fact that barely anyone has seen him play, and he is refusing competitive workouts now, is the perfect storm where a true franchise player could fall(from otherwise a clear cut #1 if he had played all year). The fact that barely anyone has seen him play also means he may turn out to be a bust of monumental proportions. That would be great too(maybe not great), since if we traded valuable pieces for that, the NBA would simply reward us with another high pick next year in a much deeper draft. Yay!

In this weak draft, the 7th pick for Scola is not enough. We would need the 7 the pick and a player for Scola, and keep our 14th.

    Rockets look to move up?

What a scoop by SI. I never would have thought of that.

Dragic, Hayes, and the 14th for the 7th pick and Green

Lowry would seem to be the best fit for them

with the draft prospects not seeming so extraordinary, i dont know if i'd want to give anyone really...but if i had to it would be scola....obviously they can have brad if thats who they REALLLLLY want :p. Scola is a beast, but is coming to the end of his career.

I also hear they have an interest in Charles "Bo" Outlaw.

I think its moreso the media reporting on things that are kind of obvious. Its the whole making news out of nothing thing that not only the media does but the posters do as well.

curious, anyone else think the Kings should give up on the Cousins/Tyreke experiment and try to move Evans this year. Not sure if they can play together.

Actually, based on my own totally non-scientific eye ball only analysis(so bear with me), the draft seems to be EXACTLY 7 deep. Which would make a trade with Sacromento, or any team high, make fine sense.

    Irving
    Williams
    Kanter
    Walker
    Valanciunas
    Knight
    Vesley

That's 7. Not sure about that Bimbo kid at all.

Is there any chance that Kanter still be around at 7? To me, he's the prize after Irving and Williams, and might make the most difference on the Rockets as currently constructed.

Kings do need a Brooks type of PG not a Lowry type, because they already have ball-hog in Tyreke and creative point guard would not fit well in their backcourt. They just won't use him for a 100% of his abilities.

Yeah, the problem with trading up iin such a weak draft is that if someone gets your guy you'll end up with crap. There isnt' any fallback option if Kanter and Irving gets picked, the rest have serious questionmarks even Williams.

This draft is very weak, and honestly it is very likely that Scola will be a better player than anyone the Rockets would get at #7... but just like the Adelman move, the Rockets need to get #7 for Scola if they can.

This team does not want to be mediocre to just "good" for the next five years, and Scola will be too old to do anything by the time the Rockets are good.

Too bad, he is a very nice person and plays very hard... a perfect complement player to an elite team.
