1. Cavaliers - Derrick Williams, F, Arizona Derrick Williams has certain qualities of a star player such as confidence, composure, big play ability, etc. He is a freak athlete with loads of potential, and actually fills a bigger need than Irving. NBA Comparison: Michael Beasley/Antwan Jamison 2. Timberwolves - Enes Kanter, PF/C, Kentucky Imagin Kanter and Love eating up boards, combined with excellent slashers like Johnny Flynn and Ricky Rubio. Irving is the best player available, but I bet if Kanter would have played this year for Kentucky, we might be talking about him as the number one pick. Plus, I don’t see how three guards will make the rotation. NBA Comparison: Tim Duncan after 30 3. Jazz - Kyrie Irving, PG, Duke They lose Deron Williams, but actually end up pretty lucky here. Kyrie is excellent PG, great decision maker and a craft scorer as well. NBA Comparison: Chris Paul 4. Cleveland - Kemba Walker, PG, Uconn Since Cleveland passes on Iriving, they will probably look to address the PG position here with Walker. Walker is a terrific scorer, and has become a much better decision maker. NBA Comparison: Tony Parker 5. Raptors - Brandon Knight, SG/PG, Kentucky The Raptors need a guard period. While Knight is more of a 2 than a 1, he has shown some PG-ish instincts, especially in the open court. NBA Comparison: Chauncy Billups/Lou Williams 6. Wizards - Jan Vesely, F, Czech Republic Vesely is an intriguing prospect because he can do many things. He is a good defender, decent scorer, and works his tail off to win. NBA Comparision: Rich-mans Tayshaun Prince 7. Kings - Kawhi Leonard, SG/SF, San Diego St. The Kings would love to grab Kemba Walker, but I doubt he makes it past the Raptors. They could use a forward though. He is a great energy player who can come in make plays in a variety of ways, mostly in the open court NBA Comparison: Gerald Wallace 8. Pistons - Bismack Biyombo, C/PF, Congo The Pistions need to get back to playing defense, and Biyombo is that first step. With a huge 7’7” wingspan he blocks almost everything. He already possesses and NBA body, and while he is raw, he seems to be learning quickly. NBA Comparison: Serge Ibaka 9. Bobcats - Jonas Valanciunas, C, Lithuania The Bobcats need help at center. I’m not sure how MJ feels about international prospects, but he has made some dumb picks before. NBA Comparison: Brad Miller 10. Bucks - Donates Motiejunas, PF, Lithuania The Bucks have a lot of role players, but they need some actual talent. Donatas is a terrific scorer from anywhere. He has a ton of potential to be a star. NBA Comparison: Dirk Nowitzki 11. Warriors - Tristan Thompson, PF, Texas The Warriors have got some nice pieces on their team, but they lack bulk and tenacity. They will learn soon enough that Epke Udoh isn’t much more than a defense role player, and that they need a more well rounded PF. NBA Comparison: Tyrus Thomas 12. Jazz - Alec Burks, SG, Colorado The Jazz also lack a true offensive threat. Burks is a craft scorer who can put up numbers quickly. Another kids with a lot potential to be a star. NBA Comparison: Dwayne Wade/ less defense 13. Suns -Jimmer Fredette, G, BYU I have a hard time imagining the Jazz passing on Fredette, and they probably won’t if they do not draft Irving, but the Suns is the better scenario. The Suns have the kind of offense Fredette will thrive in. NBA Comparison: J.J. Redick 14. Rockets - Marcus Morris, F, Kansas Either way, the Rockets will most likely be drafting one of the Morris twins. Marcus fills a need and has a little more potential. NBA Comparison: Antoine Walker 15. Pacers -Jordan Hamilton, SG/SF, Texas 16. 76ers - Markeiff Morris, PF/C, Kansas 17. Knicks - Kenneth Faried, PF, Morehead St. 18. Wizards - Tyler Honeycutt, SG/SF, UCLA 19. Bobcats - Chris Singleton, F, Florida St. 20. Timberwolves - Klay Thompson, SG, Washington St. 21. Trailblazers - Darius Morris, PG, Michigan 22. Nuggets - Tobias Harris, F, Tennessee 23. Rockets - Jordan Williams, PF/C, Maryland 24. Thunder - Trey Thompkins, PF, Georgia 25. Celtics - Lucas Nogueira, C, Brazil 26. Mavericks - Bojan Bogdanovic, SG/SF, Bosnia 27. Nets - Justin Harper, PF, Richmond 28. Bulls - Reggie Jackson, G, Boston College 29. Spurs - Kyle Singler, SF, Duke 30. Bulls - Chandler Parsons, SF, Florida
A lot of irrational hate going on because he went to Duke. Kyrie Irving is a lock at #1 at this point barring a freak workout injury.
I think this Mock Draft might be his. Because I haven't seen one mock draft that has Irving going 3rd overall to the Jazz.
Everyday people make mock drafts too LOL. Plus, I doubt any publication would post this with all the grammatical errors I made.
He believes he is a three. I don't think he is big enough to play the four. 6'8" with a 6'10" wingspan doesn't scream PF to me.
