    I fault both Equally. I have known plenty of people who qualified for food stamps but didn't take them.

    That's the thing, THIS guy shouldn't qualify if he did everything correctly submitting his winnings on his taxes. How does someone who makes one Million Dollars qualify for assistance?

    I heard something about a loophole because he took it in a lump sum. It therefore counts only as a one time asset instead of reoccurring income.

    What a stupid government we have. Oh now we have to change the system because someone won the lottery and found a loophole.

    Just decline his food stamps and take the chances that he will sue. Any competent judge will throw his case out.
