Haley reminds me of a chick from the 80s the way she talks. "I got the lead out" was epic. I doubt the young kids even caught that. Also, the songs picked for her were terrible. Haley owned their songs when that Zeppelin tune. Scotty got the best song choice of the night: kiss me or not is a hell of a song, it owns most contemporary country right now.
Interesting: Led Zeppelin actually contacted IDOL to OFFER their entire songbook to Haley to song one of their songs. Looks like Zeppelin is a fan too. Haley is awesome. Personality wise and talent wise. Real talk time: Scotty hasn't sounded good in weeks, and last night was no better. He's gone completely away from what got him to the table (the deep voice). Just because his voice doesn't crack when he goes to the upper register doesn't mean he belongs up there. Lauren: She was second best imo last night, but she wasn't all that good. Her version of I Hope You Dance was mediocre at best and sounded like a karaoke performance. It's crazy that the producers want her to win so bad that the judges don't give her any negative feedback. And then to say she won the final round? Come on Randy and Lopez. Your bias is so obvious. I understand that 16 year old Lauren will make more money for Idol because all of the teenie boppers will buy her albums and go to her concerts, but at least try to hide your favoritism. I got a major kick out of Haley's face when both Lauren and Jennifer gave the last round to Lauren. And LOL at Jennifer saying Lauren won the round before she even heard Haley sing. It's downright ridiculous the way those two judges have been in the tank for Lauren since day 1. I miss Simon. He would have had Lauren in tears by now.
Judges are driving me nuts. Granted, it's really not in their hands, and voters need to start muting their TVs as soon as they stop singing. Their input is worthless (particularly Steven Tyler's - does this guy ever say more like 1 sentence?) I was missing Simon looooong ago.
F-That. There are hundreds of Laurens in the music industry, only one Haley. She's amazing, I would re-watch her performances and I hope she goes on to have a successful career. Personally Lauren is a great singer but nothing about her stands out.
Haley had more show-stopping moments than anyone I've seen save David Cook. That chick is amazing. But I do think she comes off a little conceited. Lauren is far more likable.
congrats to randy and jlo for forcing lauren through for no reason. she is the pageant girl of american idol. complete contrived character. voice is good, but completely indistinctive. hope scotty demolishes her. i may even phone in my first vote since the one vote i cast for taylor hicks before his finale (only time i've ever voted).
Totally called this about 5 weeks ago. I just knew this was going to be the year we get two incredibly mediocre country-style singers into the finale. Excellent work American Idol.
I would go to youtube and re-watch some of her performances. She is fresh, she had good stage presence (despite falling but everyone does one time at least) and has a amazing voice for me. Lauren is more likeable, but she's just bland. I know i'm not watching. I respect what Scotty does and hope he wins but i'm not a big fan of country, and Lauren is just not exciting. I find myself doing other things while she performs. Haley's gone so personally not much reason for me to watch. And yeah the judges loved Lauren for whatever reason.
I quit watching over 3 weeks ago. I have been as hard as the judges on Haley but I do think she is better than Scotty. I figured Lauren would be in the finals but against James. Meh, I am all about The Voice now.
yep. it's the powers-that-be's one final shot to angle the singer they want into the finals/ knock out one they don't want. so stupid that once they get down to the final 3 by their own song choices, it is then taken out of their hands and they can get railroaded by being forced to sing awful songs. the show is, for the most part, rigged. i guess there's no reason to get angry about it.
it'll be the most boring finale ever!!! but i'm still watching haha i hate that haley had to go. i was listening to her studio songs yesterday and I think "you and I" is my favorite out of them all. I think they're gonna sign her anyway, so we'll see what type of music she puts out. I'm thinking along the lines of Adele's music?
I think Scotty is a better package as long as he sings popular songs not old grannie-time country music. But I think Lauren is going to win because the fans will vote for her because of what happened to her town, sadly.
