LeBron James’s first National Basketball Association championship would help add $4 billion in revenue from China for Nike Inc. (NKE), according to the first sports marketing employee in the country for the world’s largest sporting goods maker. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...th-nba-title-giving-nike-4-billion-boost.html if he really wanted to conquer china, he just needs to play with yao ming, jeez.
A few months ago I was in a smaller city (but I guess it would be huge in the States) in China and went into an Adidas store (not Adivon, Adibas, or the other 50 shanzhai versions) and lo and behold there was a Cleveland LeBron James shirt there. I was like, "Isn't he with Nike?" (The Nike store happened to be next door.) They were like, "Yeah but he used to be with Adidas, so...". Me: "..." True story. I still bought some shoes though, so much cheaper than Foot Locker
Next LeBron is going to try to take TMacs job as Ambassador to China. Actually, doubt it. He will never have the free time that TMac has.
Chinese people respect players that work hard to get their rings, not someone who rides coattail and needs crab dribble and preferential treatment to be a superstar. Should LeBron get a championship this year, it will help his popularity, but nowhere close to Kobe's level. If you go to some popular Chinese basketball forum like HoopChina, you'll see Heat fans ain't even 1/10 of Lakers'. Only Rockets with active Yao can compete in that regard.
LOL wtf did kobe have to do with anything in this thread. youre such a troll. kobe is older than moses, stop being delusional. he got swept and your best friend lebron just came up clutch against the bulls.
I am talking about the number of daily posts in the most popular Chinese basketball BBS. Lakers are out with a long offseason, Heat are in a tight series, and yet the activity in Lakers forum is way more than in Heat's. That's simply an unbiased observation. You don't care about Kobe, but there're fans out there who do, just like how Kobe's voted as the player of the decade by a landslide.
Yao should go sign with Miami Heat Then the Heat will become the biggest entity in the world ahead of every other sports team, music group, or any kind of organization. And they get to actually have a half-court game, too
Again, no one gives a crap. The question is whether LeBron can eventually conquer China, not whether he can be as popular as old man Kobe. Are you going to do this in every LeBron thread? Bring up Kobe? Let me know now so I can prepare for a long offseason.
i guess you can make anything NBA-related into a Kobe knob-slobbing fest huh? because he plays in the NBA and he's the "best" sucks the 'most popular nba player in china' got swept. tell me, how does that make you feel?
