    Too bad he's broken.

Who would have thought the other guy would still be an NBA player and Yao would be done?

They wouldn't use him, they aren't even playing Big Z in the Playoffs right now when they're getting crushed on the boards. Yao needs to stay here where we could use him sparingly

You guys are crazy if you dont think the Rockets would sign him to a reasonable contract. And dont say Vet Min... You know he will get better offers than that and it will be a slap in the face.

However I can guarentee you they will make sure he knows that next season he should not expect to be the starting Center right off the bat, and that the team will look to address the need for a starter this season.

If he is ok with that, there should be no reason why they can't get a deal done.

    Yao Ming = EPIC Fail

We seen this movie before. Cringing everytime he touches the ball? Hoping he don't step on anothers players foot, etc?

    Nah...you can keep him.

does anyone have any links or confirmable numbers as to what we are going to probably pay him or what he is likely to accept? Has morey said yet what the target numbers are for him? has he said what he expects to make?

Of course ming will say that he wants to play for rocks, but if morey low balls him then what will ming do? I would hope ming would still say yes, and come out and really try to contribute, and make up for some of that lost time ,and money we put into it. Unlikely though since cash rules everything around me cream.

I don't know, it's delicate. On one hand I want him, but on the other hand I don't want to pay him jack. Would you take a pay cut if you had been not performing on sick leave? Probably not.

It's clear that he will make less.. the challenge is for us to make sure we get him for as little as possible.

Just give him the max for 1 year. Worst case scenario - his contract becomes a trade asset.

the rox have nothing to lose, if he goes down the insurance will pick up his contract and like Ziggy said he can also be used as a trade asset.

2 years at veteran minimum. Too bad the "Yao camp" will be butthurt with that notion.

Even brad miller got 5 m/y, not sure why anyone thinks someone isn't going to offer him more than that.
